based on your communication skills here, i can see why you get in soo many fights.

ass. "if you piss me off, I will come down hard" or "The thing is also someone like me doesn't care if your wife, mother, kid, sick aunt is with you". Aren't you just a fine example of whatever age bracket you fit in... You're no better then these punk kids...
I am 32, if someone starts crap with me, how am I the punk for calling them out?
If a monkey behind a cage throws his feces at you, do you attack said monkey? If immature men want to feel like they're still quadrupedals roaming the Savannah as wild animals trying to assert their superiority I will ignore them. It's interesting to observe such behaviors of animals, but not of people. If I want to observe a wild animal I'll go to the damn zoo.

Who cares how he acted. No one deserves to be stabbed just because they don't want some assclown throwing eggs at them, no matter how they tell it to them.
This was a blatant act of senseless violence, and NOTHING justifies it. It doesn't matter if the guy gave them the finger, then proceeded to use every foul word known to man in a cussing contest against them, then started talking about their mothers, whatever. NOTHING AT ALL justifies nearly KILLING a person who put you in your place.
Besides that, why do you think he shouldn't have been hot-headed about it? How would you act if someone threw an egg at you? Are you gonna let them cover you in stinking slimy egg before you finally do something? You can give us all the stories you want about how you acted like a hot-head, but the bottom line is, NOTHING justifies senseless violence.
It's times like these where I am happy to think that I don't know some of the people around here in "real life"

well the other 18 people aren't idiots and had a point perhaps instead of just replying blindly and being hypocritical.

Look at my bold faced comment...the stabbing I said was not justified, and I agree senseless violence is unjustified...I will also say that in every situation I have not laid hands on anyone first, this is where people are not paying attention in hopes to flame me....I do believe if someone puts their hands on you violently you have a right to hurt them.
Also no where does it say the egg was thrown purposely at the baby....haven't you ever had an egg fight on halloween. Sometimes you hit an innocent bystander...it's just kids playing and I have been hit with eggs and have not gotten all ticked off about it. You have to laugh because you saw the egg fight and walked past it. Contrary to popular belief when I go down to the barrio and my puma gets scuffed I don't break out the gat and start dropping people. 🙂

But instead of backing off, they surrounded him and began throwing punches as his terrified wife screamed for help.
What she SHOULD have been doing is shooting.
Actually, the whole thing would probably have been avoided if he'd been carrying. It's one thing to beat up a guy who is unarmed, a gun makes your odds of dying pretty good, especially if you're the one leading the attack.
I hope he's OK, & as far as I'm concerned he's blameless here...but he could have been better prepared.

I am hardly an idiot, and definitely not a liar. I am also polite and expect politeness....if I don't get it then I am the worst d!ck you can imagine and I CAN BACK IT UP.
I have been surrounded by punks and if I can't get myself out of the area (I have to be there), I ask them to calm down or take it some place else....9 times out of 10 like I said, there is no problem....sometimes it gets heated, whatever...you deal with that.
I don't know why people think everyone on this board is a pencil-necked geek that doesn't get out. When I was out clubbing before I met my wife a couple years ago it was constant crap since I was 30 and the younger guys would get pissed when I was getting the action. I fought then also, I am not bragging, just stating facts. I get involved all the time in things I don't agree with that I see, my wife is always worried I am going to get shot/shot at (again).
whatever fools.

I agree. However in this sad society, he would probably have to spend all his savings defending his actions. One of the thugs parents would probably take him to civil court for wrongful death or something.
In an ideal world:
Young kid throws egg, lands near daughter.
Father tells him to watch it
Young kid says I'm gonna cut ya and charges
Father pulls out a big old nickle plated 357 and blows off half his head with a single magnum round
Other kids see what can happen if they are a dumbass and decide it's not worth it
New York throws a parade and gives him the Bernard Goetz humanitarian award

I seriously doubt that, it's gonna be like
Father pulls out a big old nickle plated 357 and blows off half his head with a single magnum round
Kids haul ass out of there
Father gets arrested for murder
Sentenced to life in jail and a lot of lawsuits from the parents of the bastard kids

Would you honestly ST@B someone for asking you to stop doing something so delinquent? This is rediculous, and your story is completely and utterly rediculous. There's no reason to get in conflict, the father asked and he almost got his life taken away. It completely amazes me of the idiots of America, especially you.

What amazes me is the failure to comprehend what I said since you are enraged and want to attack me.
If I was threatened I would do all in my power to verbally then physically stop it. If I am in public and someone is bothering me, even if I could beat them to within inches of their life, I try to relocate myself, but if that's impossible I ask "NICELY" for some kind of compromise...if that doesn't work then things go downhill.
My point was and still is: 1) The stabbing was not warranted 2) How do we know the father wasn't an a$$ about it? That's my main point, two weeks about my wife and I were in a park with her single mom friend. Kids were having fun, the weather is cooler now. Well this asshat DAD is yelling at kids to stop screaming, stop running, stop throwing, kept asking his kids 'time to go!'....it was uncomfortable for everyone there, I was asked not to say anything because the guy is always there and always like that and the single mom was worried as he does intimidate mothers.
That is why I posted the way I did. I never said that was the case in this situation, for all anyone knows the dad could have said "Please guys, I know you are just having fun, but you almost hit our baby....we'll be just passing by"....something simple like that (I don't see how could have induced a stabbing, but things don't always work logically in these situations) and still been hurt.

Now I am not siding with the kids, however, this was clearly a case when that guy should have kept his lip zipped.
The thing is people get so tough in public when they have their wife/kid with them saying things they would not otherwise (playing the tough guy).
The thing is also someone like me doesn't care if your wife, mother, kid, sick aunt is with you...if you piss me off I will come down hard. If you need something from me ask nice and I will comply 9 times out of 10.
In a theatre one time I got there early and was alone....I am sitting near the middle and the theatre was hardly packed....well Joe Dirt comes in with his family entourage of almost all kids and apparently although there are other rows totally empty, they want to sit in mine....now where I was sitting didn't allow them to all to fit on the row.
I didn't notice this or I would have just scooted down....however, next thing I know is joe dirt say "why the f**k you got to be a d**k and sit in the middle of the row? move your as$ to the end so my kids can sit down now!" (this is what I remember...)
Well put it this way I sent his as$ flying and had to catch the movie later because I wasn't sticking around for the outcome when 10 kids went running to get 'the police' 🙂
I've pulled similar moves at Disney a couple times too (where I always go to the end of a row) for various theme park nonsense people pull that should have just sent their wife and kids and stayed in their room with hotel porn.
