Agreed, they could have atleast had 1 atheist on the panel.

Because, as we've all experienced from your posts....all atheiests are rational and articulate.

He seemed ok, but said some bigoted things too, like this is a christian nation, everyone I know loves god.

The majority of people are Christians in the US. And I wouldn't doubt everybody he knows would be Christian.

Aethiests can be royal pains sometimes, as can jacka$$es from other religions. My personal view is that you believe what you want. Period. If a child of an atheist wants to believe in god, or not, let him/her. They'll figure it out when they're older when you can't do sh!t.

I think the point the two females refused to understand was that by their beliefs, they are not being accepting of all and allowing people to believe what they want. Having "one nation under god" and "In god we trust", or prayer in school presumes that there is indeed one "true" god/religion, regardless if we want to let others practice their beliefs in the way that they choose.

The funny thing is, he's from ESPN. Not exactly who you'd expect for a panel on atheism. Really feels like someone took a giant pile of business cards, scattered them around the press room at CNN, and threw some darts up into the air. Wherever the darts landed, they placed calls and had them come in for the panel.

Let's see, you constantly bash all things Christian so what makes you any different or better? Whether you like it or not this IS a Christian nation so deal with it and I am not even religious and I understand this simple concept. You can always go back to where you come from, but wait....it is probably a sh!thole so that is why you are here.

That isn't the point. The two women kept repeating how they want freedom to pray in school and how the atheists should shut up. They never address the atheist's argument that they want freedom to not pray in school, which isn't given when you leave your impressionable child in an atmosphere that compels them to pray or use the words "under God." I'm not advocating either position, just exposing the fallacy in their argument.

They also tell atheists to shut up even though, as the black guy said, they have a right to express their opinions. Those opinions were brought to the Supreme Court, who agreed with them. So if they should take issue with anything it is the interpretation of the law by the Supreme Court, not the fact that the issue was brought to them to begin with.

In other news in the Texas Legislature; Senate adopts Patrick's 'In God We Trust' resolution. What ever happened to the seperation of church and state?

Can't we just admit everyone is intolerant of everyone? Thought that might be interesting, but that was the most pointless debate I ever heard. It went like this(not what they actually said but what was basically going on) "I hate atheists" "I don't and I don't think you should" "But you see I hate atheists are trying to discriminate against us so we should try to discriminate against them....." seriously that was basically an acknowledgment that different people have different opinions and don't like the fact that there's people out there with opinions other than their own.

Some people regardless of race, sex or religion, have a certain drive to try and force others to think as they do, and can't admit that the other person has their right to own opinion.
