Again, the schools look bad....

Maybe the schools would have liked it better if he drew an airplance flying into buildings, maybe which were described as the WTC....

If he drew blood, spilling brains and guts, then I would understand. But a simple drawing like that does not warrant......anything!

Battle scenes...that's what we all drew when I was in school. Tanks, bullets, head shots (my personal expertise :) ), severed limbs, etc.

That and better mouse traps. ;)

This is another item for my Revolution thread, problem is so many incidents are like this are coming so fast it would be impossible to keep up with all.

Most of you think this is nothing, but what if it was stick figure KKK members with pointy hats hanging a stick figure black man? or a stick figure with a Nazi cap shooting another figure with a star of david on it? or a stick figure Saddam shooting a stick figure bush?

Suspension was certainly inappropriate but there's little doubt that he's been brainwashed to believe killing is patriotic.

You were the geeky kid who got picked last for kickball, weren't ya?

Boy children play with GI Joes and draw pictures of sh*t blowing up. Around age 15 they become interested in boobs. Brainwashing has nothing to do with it.

Yes but if they suspend a kid for a drawing of " KKK members with pointy hats hanging a stick figure black man" (or "Saddam shooting Bush") they have to do the same for a kid drawing a marine shooting a terrorist. Seems to me like they're not suspending him for his political stance but for the violent picture.

Sean Hannity interviewed both a school administrator and the mother. The administrator says he was suspended because of an implicit threat to another student. The mother says she was told, by the principal, that he was suspended because of the contents of the picture. The child who's name was written on the drawing is the drawer's best friend, and his parents were not contacted by the school, which makes one wonder how serious an issue the school really thought the "implicit threat" was.

Well actually at this kid's age I was transitioning from a soccer wing to a football cornerback and track sprinter. So yes I was smarter, faster, and stronger than geeky kids like you.

Boy children play with GI Joes and draw pictures of sh*t blowing up. Around age 15 they become interested in boobs. Brainwashing has nothing to do with it.
Militant societies do indeed brainwash their young into believing the use of force is not only a necessity but when used by that particular society it is uniformly good. It is a blatant fallacy but I doubt any group of militants will ever tell the truth . . . they like violence, they perpetuate violence, and in the presence of other alternatives . . . will often choose violence.

I played with GI Joes and thnx to living in the stix (plus having access to a college professor) had the pleasure to blow shxt up. Of course, I never pretended to blow people up. The enemy was always imaginary b/c it takes a true lack of respect for human life to play homicide. During that time my oldest brother was in Okinawa/South Korea while my youngest older brother was a Pershing Missile crewman in Germany.

This child likely knows very little about the Taliban other than seeing them as the enemy that will be (should be) killed. The Taliban ruled over a sub-Third World country without any global reach beyond the poppy trade they had somewhat curtailed. Unfortunately, a wealthy megalomaniac plus his minions from nations like Saudi Arabia attacked civilization on 9/11/01. Removal of the poor, captive regime that reigned over central Afghanistan has produced a NET decrease in peace in the region. The Taliban sux but the replacement regimes are arguably worse (Mayor Karzai excluded) . . . and the US is no safer despite the billions spent on bombing Afghanistan and subsequent billions in propaganda.

But at minimum it looks like we are cultivating a new crop of troops willing to kill on command.

I played defensive and offensive line and power forward. Try again.

Aren't you about due to leave this horrible country, anyway? I seem to recall you saying you were going to get out of this place as soon as humanly possible.

At this kids age . . . 14 . . . I was a corner. I finished as an outside linebacker and a running back. So I was often running over a guy like you on both sides of the ball . . . of course my best carries came thnx to a guy like you . . . go figure.

Have fun searching the archives for a "I'm going to Canada" reference. But if you are willing to take good advice . . . don't bother b/c I never said any such thing. Now I certainly said I planned to have children in another country b/c I wanted my children to have other options for citizenship. There's no hope for TX but assuming we elect reasonable leadership at the next election I still have hope for much of the country. Despite the toll being extracted by the Cabal of Fools inside the Beltline, I still believe our great country has a great future.

Man I hated private school, but we didn't have to put up with this crap. My school was an institution of learning not sanctions, and as such we actually had educated teachers and administrators who didn't have to give a crap about PC. I think I'm going to forward this thread to my parents RE: Money Well spent.

This is a case of over-reaction by the school system.

In their defense, if they had done nothing, and the boy had killed another child, they would have been criticized for ignoring aggressive behavior. Fear drove this decision.

But, assuming the above to be true, how would suspending the boy for 5 days necessarily prevent the killing of another child? Maybe, maybe not?

Also, we have altogether too much violence on t.v. and with these video games. We need more sex. :)

Oooh, dear me, what color of ink did he use to draw the victim? If it was black he is a racist, if white then he is only expressing his opinion, if red then he is against Injuns [pardon-moi Native Americans...BTW, if the Indians migrated as they said they did, why are they called natives? :) ]

If only he were allowed to say the Lord's Prayer in school, and they had posters up of the Ten Commandments, this travesty would never have occured...:disgust:
