Boy, 8, faces charges for pointing toy gun

ya, they really can't get a handle on this issue.

at the very opposite extreme some middle school kids were firing PAINTBALLS from Paintball guns (obviously) and all they got was 2 days suspension from school. they are firing the paintballs at people at school.

sounds like the kid stood up to some bullies. Good for him for having the balls to do so, if that was the case.

put the child in prison and throw away the key. who needs childhood these days?

Oh ya why not charge the whole town with that assault? I'm pretty sure that everyone there has never pointed a toy gun to anyone in their whole life

That town gets my vote for the most stupid act of mankind of the century...

Geesh, I can't remember how many times I pointed toy guns at kids, or played cops and robbers, or played Army, hell, anything that involved toy guns.

These kids are 7 and 6 for crying out loud. Don't the adults up there have any semblence of a brain, or a past childhood, or the fact that kids at age 7 are NOT mature individuals. They are kids, and will do irrational things, and that's a part of growing up, but filing criminal charges for this. This proves my theory that the world is going to hell in a handbasket, kids can't be kids without getting criminal charges placed on them.

<< "The police department must investigate allegations of any type of criminal offense," >>

And as we all know, pointing a toy gun at someone is very serious criminal offense.

<< Tommy Davis is charged with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. >>

Damn those dangerous toy gun weapons.

Yep.. this is as dumb as it can get, my whole office is laughing at their stupidity 😀 :|

In Iowa, just pointing a toy gun at someone can be considered Assault. When I lived in Missouri a 14yr old shot me in the back with a pellet gun. I couldn't even have him charged with assalt even though the polic took a picture of the bruise.
