Boy, 7, goes on killing spree in zoo...

Wow, what a sick kid... how did a seven year old break into a zoo without his parents knowing?

Article said he climbed over a fence.

wait, what? The kid is sick? Are you guys that sensitive? He wanted to see the alligator eat something. He's 7. He didn't know the ramifications of throwing some generic (to him, at least) turtle to the gator. And don't tell me that as a kid you never killed a gecko or chameleon or something similar. How is this different than someone feeding live mice to a snake?

I meant more along the lines of what kind of parent doesn't know where their seven year old is...

Did you read the article?

He smashed the animals over the head with rocks and fed them to the crocodile.

These were not geckos.

This is not a case of "boys will be boys". He knew what he was doing.

And it's fucking sick. One of the lizards was 20 years old. What a shame. 🙁

Are you fucking kidding me? You think that smashing the animals with rocks and feeding them to a crocodile is better?

I'd like to smash you over the head with a rock and feed you to the crocodile right about now.

oh, please, you've never smashed anything with a rock? However, I will contend the goanna killing is eye-opening as it's a big lizard.

and, while we're on the topic, hookers aren't even people...Really.. Killing, removing the organs of, and then having your way with one shouldn't be a crime - it's more about fulfilling these urges, following the voices and accepting who you are.

wha?

As Eli said, it seems you have failed to read the article:

The blank-faced boy, who had evaded security cameras because of his slight size, then began his deadly rampage, smashing rocks on the heads of the reptiles and throwing them and other live animals into the crocodile enclosure, according to the zoo?s director Rex Neindorf.

The boy killed 13 animals in total, including a large turtle, bearded dragons, goannas and lizards including Thorny Devils and Western Blue tongues, which are hard to find in captivity.

That is not idle fun. Unfortunately this child is likely a psychopath (in the medical sense). Normal children at that age should have some empathy for animals.

it wasn't the case of catching a field mouse and throwing it to watch something eat it.
it was way beyond that. plus he climbed fences knowing, even at 7 years old, that the zoo was closed and he shouldn't be in there.

don't be an apologist for this kid. he clearly has some issues.

and to answer your question, no, i have never hit an animal over the head with a rock.

no big deal... found a big spider web a few days ago by the house... i help the spider feed by catching bugs for him....

edit: i failed to read the article before replying.... woah...that kid is over the top...

Dude, I saw bambi when I was 5 and cried my ass off. My dog died when I was around that age too, of natural causes mind you. 7 year olds know about life/death often more than ADULTS do. In other words, kids give human characteristics to animals at that age, and the pain they feel from the death of their dog often is more extreme than their feelings about losing a relative...

I have killed insects with rocks, sure. Not higher animals. I killed a bird with a BB gun once, and I felt horrible about it.

They were all big lizards. They were not chameleons and geckos. What the hell is wrong with you? He killed 13 animals.

😕

I did read the article, but I'm not about to condemn a 7 year old on the basis of the number of animals he fed to the croc or the adjectives the reporter used. I still hold that the only eye-catching part is killing the goanna.

I'm in one of those moods. 😛

Oh, and I killed a bird once with a bb gun and it didn't faze me.
