both sides do bad stuff and nothing the other side does justifies what one side does
Well, let me see. Israel goes after Hamas leaders in Gaza. Palestinians declare jihad and 200 gunmen show up and start fighting with the Israelis. Civilians die and who can say if they were killed by the result of Israeli bullets or Palestinian bullets.
but those actions Israel does take in "trying to prevent future terrorist attacks" only makes the people hate Israel more than before, and with that hate terrorist groups can get more and more people to join their ranks. Same can be said about when those terrorists attack Israel but it only makes the Israelis hate the Palestinians more.
For this to stop there must be a hope for some other way than fighting, with no hope this will only get worse and worse.

200 palestinian gunmen enter Israel to take out an IDF officer, there starts a conflict between the IDF and the gunmen, those 200 palestinians kill 12 people including the officer and then retreat. Hard to say who killed the civilians who died in the crossfire, but it all comes down to this, who is more responsible for their deaths, the invadors who belive they are on a just cause securing their people from future attacks or the defenders who are defending their home from an invading force?

They are both responsible, as I mentioned, who can say from whose bullets they died. The Guardian article tries to squarely place the blame on the Israelis...

Actually, he was in a house about 200 meters (~220 yards) from where the firefight was. Stray bullet hit him in the head. I think there's a big difference between that, and say a soldier coming along and shooting him.

Settlements are illegal. Those people should not be there. If they want to occupy that land so bad and build Jewish only oasis in the middle of Palestinian misery, they should be prepared to die. I feel bad that an innocent child died, he was brought there by his parents, but the settlers do not have my sympathy.
Was this IDF officer responsible for building bombs resulting in the death of innocent civilians? If so, then you may have a point. IOW, your anology is bunk.
What are you trying to say? Are you implying that the Palestinians are there illegally? Are you going to use the "but it's in the Bible" argument that because Jews had the land ions ago Palestinians have no claim to it? Come on now.
Invading force? They could wipe out and take over ALL of the Gaza and West bank if they wanted too, probably in less then a day if they were so inclined. The actual restraint they show is amazing if u think about their capabilities.

Maybe if they didn't invade other people's cities they wouldn't have that problem. Israel is completely blameless *rolls eyes*
