At first she said, "It wouldn't be right." But the 15-year-old boy's persistence paid off, and

Stephanie A. Stein, his 31-year-old, married former teacher at Plymouth Christian Academy, gave in to him.

They had sex at his Canton home, at Stein's mother's home in Canton, and in a hotel.

That was the teen's testimony Friday during Stein's preliminary examination in 35th District Court in Plymouth. He isn't being named because the Free Press doesn't identify alleged victims of sex crimes.

Stein of Canton was bound over on two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, each a 15-year felony; one count of using the Internet to communicate with a minor to send a sexually explicit photo of herself, a 4-year felony, and one count of distributing obscene material of a sexual nature to a minor, a 2-year felony.

She has denied the charges. Her arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 12 in Wayne County Circuit Court.

"Under the law, it doesn't matter whose idea it was -- he's a minor," Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Lora Weingarden said after the hearing, at which the boy was the only witness to testify.

Stein, a part-time English teacher at the school, resigned in June.

She remains free on a $50,000 personal bond and has been ordered not to have contact with the teen. She also cannot have contact with any children, other than her own with supervision.

During the hearing, Stein's attorney, Todd Flood, asked the teen questions that portrayed the boy as obsessed with Stein. The boy agreed that he went to her home multiple times to try persuade her to have sex.

The teen denied that he made up a lot of the affair and said he was in love with Stein.

Stein taught the boy two years ago. He said they began a relationship in January that ended in September, and that they had sex during the summer.

It really doesn't matter, dennifloss. If the young boy "seduced" her or not is of no merit.

hey, even if its a messed up situation there is value in teaching people to be honorable. being young doesn't mean you are allowed to be a douchbag. if you want to talk about a lack of values in society today this is part of it. sure she shouldn't have given in, but he also shouldnt' have been perusing a married woman. let alone hanging her out to dry.

Well, it seems that young boys sometimes are prone to bragging. Hmm, not like that ever happens around here.

Just another case of a woman finally getting what she was originally denied as a growing and blossoming 14-18 year old girl. She never got the attention as a girl. It's the very reason she decided to become a teacher; to be around that same age group of boys. It worked for her. Now time for the slammer!

The only problem i have with this is the teacher was married.

Precisely. I'm sick to death of everyone running around waving their hands in the air every time this happens. Not all children grow up at the same rate and this particular kid CLEARLY knew exactly what he was doing. What, when he turns 18 some switch would've magically flipped in his head causing him to suddenly not be mentally traumatized by nailing his teacher? Please.

And I know the counter-argument to that, "Well you have to draw a line somewhere, 18 is the age most people are comfortable with, blah blah blah" Which is fine. Except at least admit you're drawing a completely arbitrary, meaningless line. Nothing special happens at 18. It's just the age people randomly decided makes you an adult. If someone nails someone younger than 18 they're not some monster, they've simply broken a law that has no basis in reality in the first place.

Yeah, I know, I'm a pedophile, or a pedophile apologist, whatever. I know I'm right.

I personally think many of todays 15/16 year olds are having more sex than their parents do currently and their parent's did at their age. I am too young to have a 16 yo of my own, but at 15/16 most of my friend and classmates had sex already, some were on second partners or more already. My first wife was a christian school chick. Out of her class of 20 something, there were no virgins. In the junior class below her only 2 of the girls were virgins (but many of the junior guys were still).

This was in the early 90's late 80's.

While most adults wouldn't think about seducing a 16 year old innocent kid, they'd have a hard time fending off a studly or voluptous teen undressing themselves in front of them and declaring they want to fck.

The danger is the drama in breakups...if your partner is illegal they can easily play that angle.

I think based on this kids own remarks the teacher should not be prosecuted. However, the school's rules are sort of separate so she may have screwed up her career.
