When I was in high school, there was this kid that leapt from the roof of the auditorium to his death after report card day. So yeah, kids do kill themselves over fear of a lot of things, bad grades included let alone the threats of a ruined life.

Then the fault lies with the lawmakers and the idiots who elect the lawmakers. The school administrators did NOTHING wrong. They're the only ones who are NOT wrong in this scenario and not so coincidentally they're the ones that the ATOT idiots want to be at fault.

The law is idiotic.
The people who passed the law should be impeached.
The kid is an idiot.
The parents are negligent.
The school admins did what they were required to do.

This isn't rocket science.

So if the law requires you to shoot your family will you do it? I think not. We all make choices.

Wow, Reductio ad absurdum of a truly epic scale. The law doesn't require you to shoot your family zippy, if you can't muster the one brain cell necessary to understand that was the most stupid argument you could possibly make at least come up with the 1% of one brain cell that would hopefully trigger your common sense to prevent you from saying something anything at all.

absolutely tragic. the kid was not a sex offender, regardless of the verdict. he didn't molest anyone or rape anyone or forceably expose his genitals to anyone in a sexual or habitual way...

the poor kid and the kid's family... i really hate stories like these... and stories like ap's kid...

ridicolous, if he wasn't really nude, then it's not streaking.

Anyway it's ridicolous that this was even reported to the police.
If kids in the yard hit each other but a teacher or whoever is able to call them down without having to physically intervene, should he call the police to prosecute them for aggression and fighting? Come on...

underwear vs bathing suit???? I don't see the difference? Would he have been labeled a sex offender if he was wearing a bathing suit? such as those worn by the swimming team in high school? I don't understand? Are running shorts the track team wears labeled also as sex offender shorts?

Clothing is appropriate for certain occasions/locations.

The kid was trying to draw attention. If no clothing so be it.

Again, the problem was the laws, as written, allows for no wiggle room/discression

In the old days (pre 2000) this kid would have just got a foot up the ass and yelled at for a few minutes.

Welcome to the brave new world

That principal must have scared the shit out of that kid. I would've like to hear the conversation between the boy and the school authorities.

Well then you wouldn't call this a sex offense, but maybe a misdemeanor "conduct" type charge.

Law classifies the incident as indecent exposure.

You want a kid in his underwear prancing around your daughter in school?

Kid was caught in a grey area and did not have the willpower to fight for himself. Nor did his family step up.

Such is derived from the one sided article.

if my daughter in highschool has not seen a naked man, let alone one in his underwear, by that age I'd be wondering what I did wrong as a parent.

I did. Never learned about fancy underwears until about a year or two into the Navy.

I remember the day I learned about boxer briefs. They existed long before I ever discovered them, but for a large part of my young life my mom was making my underwear purchases. She thought briefs were the bees knees apparently.
