Once again i was beat this year to all the good deals. Down here in the lower mainland all the future shops and bestbuys were packed =/. I blame the christmas dinner on not getting up early :(

never lined up for boxing day. it's all trickery to get you into the store and buy more than you intended or should. sure there are decent deals but the risk/benefit isn't worth it. just watch a site like redflagdeals and there are deals throughout the year.

I'm far too lazy to bother going out on boxing day. once you factor in that the stress just knocked a few years off your life, the deal wasn't that hot.

Day after Xmas used to be awesome for sales, but since so many people use gift cards instead of real gifts, its kinda crappy now. The stores are packed with people looking to use up their cards and other folks who got crummy gifts looking to exchange or refund them.

I think waiting until after New Years day is probably best. The stores are desperate to unload all the crap they stockpiled and cant get rid of. Also you will have plenty of unopened returned items on sale for much less than normal.

I try to avoid the stores on Boxing day. the deals tend to continue on for a while until they clear inventory. Monday I need to go buy some clothes and shoes and stuff though so hopefully there might be some good deals, but think for clothes by then it will be pretty much back to normal.

The whole week following xmas is pretty much a washout going to the stores. I remember going to Canada Computers on boxing week a couple years back and the place was a zoo. I pretty much got everything I wanted before xmas anyway. Bought a new video camera for 33% off.

I'm hitting the mall after work today for the hell of it, but by and large, I agree.

Lord and Taylor has 20% off clearance items, so I'll probably poke around their clearance racks and maybe see if I can find anything good to buy and save for my niece's birthday (or some stuff for myself for the winter), but I'm not expecting much.

How stupid do you have to be to not know what boxing day is? I weep for humanity.

Edit - sorry, I'm in a foul mood. Just got done torturing myself with some P&N threads.

How stupid do you have to be to not know about a holiday in another nation?

BTW, I heard your recent bicycle trip went well...

http://www.modbee.com/weird/story/983265.html

"WELLINGTON, New Zealand -- Police picked up two naked men on a late night bike ride in a New Zealand town but let them off with a warning: put on helmets. "They were wanting to experience total freedom," said Senior Constable Cathy Duder, who stopped the pair about 10 p.m. on a recent night in the beach resort town of Whangamata. She told them: "You may experience total confinement. You should head home and get helmets."

The duo turned tail and headed directly back to their house, Duder told The Associated Press on Wednesday. She said she did not see them again during her shift, and it was not known if they donned helmets and resumed their ride.

Public nudity can attract a charge of offensive behavior in New Zealand, but Duder said she cut the two men a break.

"It was dark and there was no one else around. They were jovial young men who had not intended to cause offense," she said.

She described the two as "happy young men in their mid-20s ... they appeared to be as sober as two judges."

The Dec. 7 encounter, which has only just come to light, probably signaled the start of what Duder described as summer hijinks in Whangamata, a popular surfing and holiday getaway where partying is common during Christmas and New Year season."

Hmmmm yeah it's like when someone takes a walk in the park and tracks through dog poo. You can smell the stench in the air when they walk in the room! ;)

sure enough, there was crap all at the mall... but I got a great parking space and hit 40k miles on my car during the drive there, so there's that at least :)
