It's cool what happened but keep in mind that cyber bullying is does not grant you the right to physically attack someone, if he found the asshole and punched his lights out it's an assault and no judge is going to accept the fact that he was fucking with me on twitter so I decided to kick his ass..
This happened in the U.K. and they do handle things differently than we do here in the U.S. But, you are probably right about him being unlikely to find favor from the court. Could just amount to a "hand slap" though.
Given the outcome of this incident, I posit the boxer had a very good idea of who, and what, he was dealing with. His tactics seemed to reflect that. I also doubt he intend to throw the guy a beating. Although I have little doubt he would have done so, if given what he felt was sufficient provocation.
To be fair, if anyone on this forum sent me a picture of my street and said they were coming, even if I had confirmation they were a manlet I would still make boom boom in my pants.
To me it would indicate a higher than normal chance of instability, and crazy is way more dangerous than size.
Brings to mind a good movie line "If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there."
Trolls and e-thugs should take fair warning: There are real people on the other end of a unwarranted and mean spirited trollfest. Some of them will take it personally. And of those, some will have the means and motivation to do more than angrily hammer out vitriolic responses. You may find yourself in the middle of a defamation lawsuit. Or with a professional combat athlete stopping by for a spot of tea, to see if you have it in you to repeat what you have typed, to their face.
I think most of us would make the smart money bet, that what happened in this instance, is the norm. That being, E-Thugs and trolls are almost invariably cowardly IRL.
