I don't know much about it but apparently twitter makes it easy to bully people because you just need to use some hashtag to make that stuff show up on celebrities' pages.
Like when the pope created a twitter account, the jokes on there were very funny and massive in quantity.

as a boxer i'm sure he has some "friends" that could take care of the hard labor if he chooses to go that route

Exactly. Why should anyone have to stop using a particular site to get away from trolls? Then the trolls win. Taking action against them, is laudable IMO. Be it legal action, or in this case, being willing to physically accost them. We all understand hecklers and the like go with the territory, so to speak. But, when one crosses the line, then taking them to task if possible, is appropriate. In this instance, that is precisely what happened.

It's cool what happened but keep in mind that cyber bullying is does not grant you the right to physically attack someone, if he found the asshole and punched his lights out it's an assault and no judge is going to accept the fact that he was fucking with me on twitter so I decided to kick his ass..

I disagree. It has gone massively viral, and here we are discussing it. Well worth the investment from both a time and money perspective. Then there is the cherry on top, of the guy pissing down his leg, and effusively apologizing repeatedly. All just by letting him know you were about to show up at his door. :awe:

To be fair, if anyone on this forum sent me a picture of my street and said they were coming, even if I had confirmation they were a manlet I would still make boom boom in my pants.

To me it would indicate a higher than normal chance of instability, and crazy is way more dangerous than size.

I don't see what is wrong with confronting the troll. Reading just the excerpt posted, he didn't actually threaten the troll explicitly. Maybe he just wanted to flex his massive non-e-penis in front of him and make him cower.

Heh, worked.

With his $$, he could have had street view shopped when he found his address. "Here I is."

Exactly, here's some more text from the article, "Ever since Twitter became part of the culture of modern sports, athletes have lamented their susceptibility to unfettered abuse, with pro tennis player Rebecca Marino citing cyberbullying as a major reason behind her retirement at the age of 22."

I mean WTF, you've spent how many years getting good enough to compete at the pro level then you quit because of shit put up on Twitter?, hey dumbass, how about deleting your account and go on with your life, geez...

wow....

i never understood why celebs get upset with bad twitter pub either. if i was a celeb, i would post one time on twitter. "twitter is for twits. have a nice life because mine is awesome!"

another example of the convergence of the intarwebs and real life. it's no longer the case where you can do any douchy/illegal things without a care. consequences will never be the same.

This happened in the U.K. and they do handle things differently than we do here in the U.S. But, you are probably right about him being unlikely to find favor from the court. Could just amount to a "hand slap" though.

Given the outcome of this incident, I posit the boxer had a very good idea of who, and what, he was dealing with. His tactics seemed to reflect that. I also doubt he intend to throw the guy a beating. Although I have little doubt he would have done so, if given what he felt was sufficient provocation.

To be fair, if anyone on this forum sent me a picture of my street and said they were coming, even if I had confirmation they were a manlet I would still make boom boom in my pants.

Brings to mind a good movie line "If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there."

Trolls and e-thugs should take fair warning: There are real people on the other end of a unwarranted and mean spirited trollfest. Some of them will take it personally. And of those, some will have the means and motivation to do more than angrily hammer out vitriolic responses. You may find yourself in the middle of a defamation lawsuit. Or with a professional combat athlete stopping by for a spot of tea, to see if you have it in you to repeat what you have typed, to their face.

I think most of us would make the smart money bet, that what happened in this instance, is the norm. That being, E-Thugs and trolls are almost invariably cowardly IRL.
