Boxee replacement

Hi there!

My boxee box is on its last legs and am looking for a good replacement.

I mostly use it to stream MKV from my NAS...all those extra channels dont bother me in the least so thats not a selling point.

I would like peoples opinion on the best media streamers currently on the market?

Low end PC running XBMC. Something like: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883103468

Or this:

There's a ton of mini computers like this running AMD's E-350/E-450 or Intel Atom + Nvidia that should be able to do what you want. Some have harddrives and OS's preinstalled, some don't, some have blu ray drives, some have tv tuners, etc.
Throw Ubuntu on one, and then XBMC on top of that and you should be good to go. (although Windows will work better, but it's not free)

Yep for streaming local media.

I actually used to use XBMC before the boxee. While it was fun tinkering around with it I got a bit sick of it regulary crapping itself (that could have been just the eeepc I was running it on though.

Thanks for the advice 🙂
