Maybe she is over reacting but then again adults who can't even clean up after themselves in a community kitchen at work are pretty pathetic. I would simply take any dishes I found in the sink down to the street and throw them in the dumpster. Sounds like where you work I would solve the problem in a couple of days as there would be no dishes left except those brought in daily.....and pretty soon those people wouldn't have any at home.

We had some plates and silverware in the break room at work that someone brought in for everyone to use, since they got a new set at home. Another co-worker stole them after a few months so she could help her daughter furnish her new apartment.

Ahhahah. What a frickin douchebag.

a better solution than a box o shame....as we will probably soon find out, if the OP keeps this updated.

If I went to the sink at work and there were dirty dishes in it, I'd throw them in the trash.

Yeah, I'll definitely update it when something else happens. She already threatened to throw the crap away a month ago or so... but I guess she thought this was a better idea.

I like the picture idea. My wall ally printed up a sign that says "Cubical of shame" and put it in his area... I think it'll be going on hers next week.

We have this one lady in the office that flips out any time someone doesn't wash their dishes. Sometimes it can be a problem and people won't wash their dishes for 3 days to a week... and that person is a douche but come on, does this woman have to flip the hell out any time there is a dirty dish in the sink. We all get at least one angry email a week from this woman.

I walked into the kitchen and I'm faced with this. What the hell is wrong with this person. She thinks we are laughing at the idea, but we are really laughing at her.

Box-o-shame

edit: oh and we just started throwing shit in there for the hell of it.
lazy pigs.

dishes should be washed daily or at least on the second day. oh, and i make my bed daily too.

Damn, you are so lucky. I wish we had weird people like that where I work. They're all way too normal ... except for the guy who can't find a girl to marry ... so he's taken a number of trips to Vietnam trying to find one (still looking).

How ugly can a guy be?

What's odd about this situation is that he's employed AND looking for a wife. That alone should allow him to find an American skank pretty easy without having to look too hard.

I lived with 3 other people in an apartment in college. We each kept our rooms pretty clean, but the common area/kitchen was full of trash. Dirty dishes, food, cans, silverware, you name it was everywhere. One guy got a new TV for the living room, he left the box there so we filled it with trash. We got a shitty pool table - we stopped playing pool and filled that with trash. Funny too since our apartment was fairly close to the dumpster.

Because they're waiting for their mommy to come clean up after them, just like at home.

What kind of workplace is this? I never once though dirty dishes would an issue at work...

Seriously. Must be full of teenagers with no concept of responsibility.

It's actually a city hall with seemingly responsible adults. I'm the youngest one there.

Whilst I think her actions are childish and pedantic, unwashed stuff in a sink for days on end is disgusting.

that was too easy. you should make yourself more incognito or else someone on the internets is going to prank you at work, and not just with dirty dishes. 😛
