How many per day is considered healthy? I used to think once a day was good, but I've recently heard that after each meal is normal. Which is it?

Four times daily, according to a very large woman I know.

Is it that many because of her intake? I'm not overly large ( 6ft, 190). For many years I've been going once a day unless I'm sick. Never more than twice, no matter how much I eat. I'm just wondering if that's healthy or should I take some kind of colon cleansing product to "clean me out"?
