I beg to differ on that. The Odyssey has been on the market since '99. The Sienna was designed with enhancements taking feature ques from the:

Windstar
Caravan
MPV
Odyssey

While performance between the two is similar, feature wise and content wise, the Sienna simply blows the Odyssey out of the water. AWD? Nowhere to be found on the Odyssey. Sability control, laser cruise control, etc, etc. And have you sat in the XLE?? My goodness, I was in an XLE Limited and it was like sitting in the Lexus. Makes the Odyssey look spartan in comparison. Given all its features, the Sienna is the true anti-SUV for soccermoms.

Also, the Sienna can undercut the Odyssey by quite a bit with the base CE model which can be had for ~$24,000.

yeah I sat in the XLE model. I didn't really like the dash to be quite honest. Although the Seinna does get the upper hand for stability control and laser cruise (didn't know it had either). Isn't the Sienna's AWD system a front-wheel drive till slip system?

Still, I just prefer the Odyssey. It vibes well with me. Of course Im not the in the market for either so my opinion doesn't matter.

Btw, NFS4, wats the story with hte Freestar? Is it just renamed, or is it a whole new vehicle?

WOW, ford really screwed up if Edmunds is right. i haven't had a chance to look at the new freestar yet, but if it's as bad as they describe it

wtf, the Freestar comes with a 4.2L V6 as optional and comes standard with a 3.9L V6.

The 4.2L V6 makes 201hp and 264lb/ft. Only 264lb/ft. That's just sad. The 3.9L has equally pathetic numbers. That thing must drink gas like no tomorrow.

The cool part is that the inteior looks fairly decent and the Mercury version comes with heated AND cooled seats! :D

you know what annoys me about auto makers, ford could have put their 4.6 v8 in there and in most driving conditions would have gotten better gas mileage than that pathetic V6.

under powering cars is a sure fire way to get bad gas mileage in real driving situations.

This discussion is making me realize just how much my '96 Aerostar (w/156K on it) is starting to show its age. I wish I could afford to upgrade, but I'll be driving this thing until it literally dies on me.

You know, the Freestar specs shows it gets about the same gas-mileage as my lumbering Aerostar. You would think that Ford could have increased it a bit by now.

Well then make sure to take pics and post them when you get those chrome 17" wheels.
