Boy, do we ever have some fantastic news for the AOSP ROM-loving crowd: CyanogenMod nightlies are finally back, meaning the first official CM7 builds are rolling out as I type this. Sure, they’re probably moderately buggy (although generally, CM nightlies are still pretty good), and yeah, they may be missing some features – but let’s be frank: it’ll still probably be one of the most solid Gingerbread builds around, regardless of what device you’re using.

At the time of this writing, only the myTouch Slide, original Droid, and Nexus One builds have been compiled and are ready for mass consumption. However, it shouldn’t be long before other devices start cropping up one-by-one, so check back every few hours to see if a build is ready for whatever device you may be using. The changelog this time… well, it’s a bit sneaky, really:

Snapping a back up of my CM 6.1.2 build now.

There are Evo nightlies as well, unless that's just some guy on XDA compiling himself.

I'm going to guess that the extremely slow download speed is due to demand . . . :p

LOL, they have a ton of followers...

A hoping they do something cool with the color nook :D

I love the dev team. They put their work into so many devices it's insane.

I'm quite content with CM6.1.2 on my Droid, and I've never played with Nightlies before, so I'm going to wait until they post a Final/Stable CM7.

For the NOOKcolor, well... I might have a hard time telling myself to wait if they start posting beta/RC releases of CM7.

612 has been very stable for me, no question there. But I want to take GB for a spin, and the CM7 nightly seems to be mostly functional. Several of my Market apps didn't install, Meebo, Maps, few others. Kinda need Maps, have to check that.

I'm running nightly #246 which is one of the last pre gingerbread builds. I'm gonna give them a week or two to deal with some of the bugs before I try this.
