Yeah I just watched it for the first time.

Did it have more than one ending? The dvd had the "good" ending.

Yes or no is fine.

Sure - just turn it off before the last 30 seconds and you get the bad ending. :p

Of course he had to live, the movies are making to much money for a 'bad' ending.

My understanding is that they didn't even follow the books on the last two, so they could really take it wherever they want beyond what was in the series of books. But the last one did have a sense of finality to it.

The way it ended I thought it left it open to go either way but more to another movie.

They could. The guy obviously doesn't want to be an assassin, so he's not going to be the next James Bond or what have you. He took down the government program that made him what he was, so that's what I meant by a sense of finality - he did what he wanted to do, and he didn't seem to care if he died in the process. To make another movie I think they'd have to come up with someone else who'd have some reason to want to go after him, because I don't see him going after anyone else.

Nicky seems like the likely person he would have to rescue. There were moments in the 3rd movie when she was dying her hair that she looked like his last girlfriend that got killed. I'm guessing they could explore that more in a 4th movie seeing how she is on the run now.

hell it didn't even follow the first book except for a basic idea of his memory loss and a few names. After the ocean part the movie practically split off from the book and did it's own thing.

I sure hope they don't try another movie. They ended this one really well and I think with a nice finality to it. He completed his mission to find himself and take down the corporation that was after him. I'm sure they could think of something else for him to do but I can't see if being very good.

I see your point Mugs but it is Hollywood and the Federal Goverment protrayed by Hollywood. ;) If they could redo Hiedi with Shirley Temple, They would have her in a Apache Attack Helicopter taken out the freakin village where the aunt lived who kidnapped her. Then vowing vengence on everyone in the Swiss Alps when the old man keeled over from heart failure

I think Nicki is safe once the program went down. No one to go looking for her and all.

But I agree that she would be the reason to bring him back.

But they left the Pamela Landy thing wide open, she could hunt him down etc etc.

Plus he can always have another nightmare, TONS of places to go.

Exactly. The movies pretty much bore no resemblance to the books whatsoever.

That being said, I thought the first two pretty much sucked. The last one, though, is truly bad ass. One of the best movies I've seen in a while.

I just remember peaking through the older thread and people were coming up with al types of theories so I thought it had more than one ending.

So what mugs said pretty much sum'ed it up for me. Thank you.

And flxnimprtmscl, it was one bad ass movie.

I loved the movies. I never had a chance to read the books so I cant compare them. If they do decide to make a 4th one I really hope bourne has a cameo in it and that is all. To be good and not just another money maker it needs to have a new main character and introduce a whole different story line. Some interaction with current characters would be neat and could help it frame what time youre seeing (showing bourne's first boss alive still and whatnot). I would be completely happy if they didnt make another though. I enjoyed these three and unless the 4th takes a new direction I foresee it being very boring and repetitive.

Good movie, but I doubt that you could hotwire an A6 like that.

Yeah, yeah... there are a lot of unbelievable stunts in that movie, but the one with the Audi A6 bugged me for some reason.

I really think they tied it up so that it would be finished wit this one, and I believe it has been said that Matt Damon wants to retire from his Borne days...

If it comes back it can't be another hunt down Bourne theme if only because it has already been 3 times and is old (ok in the first 3 because its pretty much treated as a single story arc). However I think they could bring it back with something along the lines of Bourne finally doing something productive instead of playing the mechanic trying to save his own life and get himself back together and free.

- they can do this several ways - with a memory regained that causes him to go and help 'save the world' (doesn't always have to be as big as the world like with Lames Bond ;) <3)
- they could make it so Bourne is presented with a choice where the government or some other party comes to him for help
- make it so that someone/group accidentally makes a very poor choice in an enemy (bank robbing mobsters hijack the bus he is on or some BS ;)) and he is thrust into another personal war to try and free himself - the CIA had to learn the hard way over 3 movies, it would only take one movie for any other organization to learn from their mistake in fucking with Jason Bourne :D

Anything along those lines could be a good movie without falling victim to the usual horrors of sequels spun off only because the first was good. In this case I believe the general consensus is that the Bourne movies actually got better with each successive movie, a highly impressive feat considering the current entertainment industry, to go and force more sequels when the franchise is cleanly tied off and certainly went out with a huge bang would be a shame.
