Seriously though, do you know any details of the situation? I hope the bouncer did some time for nonaggravated assault.
Awesome. I especially like the part about the patrol officer doing much of the investigation himself. :thumbsup:Originally posted by: BrokenVisage

If the kid even tapped or pushed the bouncer, the bouncer's off scott-free.

Um, no. Sorry, you're wrong. Self defense must be in-kind. Where do you get your information?Originally posted by: Tomato

Agreed. If I saw that happening and I was carrying, I'd try my hardest to aim for the bouncer's crotch. :QOriginally posted by: Gobadgrs

FWIW, the bouncer is being charged with attempted murder and two counts of felony battery.

That was the night that Christopher Ecklund was assaulted in the parking lot of the R&R Club by bouncer Gaylen Kanoa, after inquiring about a car that was towed. Chris was repeatedly hit in the face, and had his head slammed into the side of a parked car and the curb. When Brandy Provenzano (the wife of Fremonts/Nines/FFI musician Gary Wright) tried to intervene, she was punched in the face and knocking unconscious and Christian Rodgers managed to capture the entire incident on videotape. On July 16th Kanoa pleaded guilty to two counts of felony battery (a charge of attempted murder was dropped) and Judge Valorie Vega sentenced him to up to 9 years in prison; a tougher sentence than the one recommended.
DiGiacomo said a parole and probation report recommended a sentence of 38 months to 96 months in prison. Prosecutors asked Vega to follow the recommendation. Instead, Vega handed out a sentence of 43 to 108 months.

Even if the guy did do something offensive to the bouncer, he didn't attempt to murder him like the bouncer tried to do to the guy.Originally posted by: I Saw OJ
There has got to be more to the story of the guy just asking about his towed car. He had to have done SOMETHING to that bouncer. Either that, or the bouncer is just a flippin mental case, and if he is one, then he needs to be put away for a good, long time.
