First a carry gun for the wife, now ar15's, is there something you want to tell us about a possible escapee from your basement?

Also looked up "Bullet button." That is incredibly retarded. As if the supposed criminal (no one goes on a rampage with an AR anyway) would actually use it...or couldn't fashion a mechanism that makes it just as easy to remove the mag as without it.

i would say thats about right for a lower quality AR.

oh and $80 transfer fee is fucking ridiculous. get the fuck out of CA!

Been watching for ARs for a while. The one I saw today was a good price till I found out what upper it had.

Just getting ready for the civil war that is coming to the US next year when gas prices spike and the earthquake comes.

Even with shitty parts, it shouldn't be that cheap. Is there something wrong with it?

I paid $650 a few years ago for my DPMS with a match barrel, but that's NH..

I'll be in AZ by then...feel free to drop by and you can borrow my AK. 😛

I like the AK but I'll also have an AR10 or an AR30 by then.

DROS is up to $30 now I believe. And you can do much better than an $80 transfer fee if it is FTF. You should be looking at closer to $20 for that. That's a pretty nice gun, but I'm still stuck in 2004 with gun prices. I refuse to pay people's jacked up "pre-apocalyptic" prices.

What? It isn't $25 anymore? FTF is limited to $35 for a ftf ppt dros. If it isn't, it is a problem.

Aren't you in Sacramento where I am, Olds? Where are you getting those prices?

Upper = stay away. Its crap.

For that type of budget, build this instead.

You can easily build a quality AR for that price.
lower - $100
transfer/purchase fee - $35
m4 stock kit - $50
mil spec lpk - $70
mil spec upper from spikes or bravo company with hp/mp tested parts - $500
bullet button - $15

Ok, its a little more for at $770 but this is without waiting for any deals. I can get prices at least that low right now.

EDIT: mil-spec is crap without the testing to make sure the products are actually mil-spec.

Wait, would that make my Ruger 10/22 an assault rifle? LOL.

We can have a detachable mag here if we get rid of the pistol grip and don't have a flash hider up front. I know, stupid.

These rifles are usually black though, so they're evil. Unlike such guns as the mini-14, garands, m1a's... etc. That darned pistol grip and flash hider.

what is a bullet button??

NM i googled it and that is the dumbest thing i have ever seen.

It replaced the standard mag release and prevents you from just pressing the button. There is a hole in the middle that you can stick a "tool" into to release the magazine. Gets around the law because a magazine is considered fixed if it requires a tool to remove. An often used tool is a bullet (223/556 round is pointy up front), hence the name.

22lr's are still bound by our stupid 10 round mag limits though. I'd love to get the 10/22 conversion or 22lr ar15 upper to use belt-fed ammo. In my opinion, the perfect zombie holocaust weapon.

In most places you can buy a brand new Bushmaster or S&W M&P for less then $1,000. Last week Academy sports and outdoors had the S&W M&P on sale for around $900.

So why not add $150 to your price and get a new rifle from a well known brand name?

Forget those AR10s, and get an SA58 from DS Arms. The FN/FAL has been around for a long time and spare parts are easier to find then parts for the AR10s

If you are in Sacramento, what place is charging you $80 to transfer? Generally, most shops charge $25 to transfer a gun, at least that is what Cordova shooting range does... Besides, I would rather build the gun myself. For the price, I don't see much of a savings over piecing it togther yourself and choosing the parts YOU want..
