Bought Sennheiser CX300-II from MyMemory

I bought these earbuds because apparently they're very good for their price and they're good for a first good pair of headphones.

I bought them from MyMemory because that's the cheapest I could find it. (http://www.mymemory.co.uk)

Everywhere else I tried, shipping to Canada was insane. And I also didn't want to go with a bunch of other retailers because I hear there are a ridiculous number of fake CX300s out there.

So I'm wondering if anyone has bought anything from MyMemory before. Do they sell fakes? The earbuds weren't very expensive, but I still don't want fake CX300s. :S

BTW, I tried searching for previous CX300-II / MyMemory topics, but the search keeps giving me a database error.

Let us know what you think!

I had the original CX300, really good for the price, but the cabling is CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP and I think it snaped :(

I guess I'll have to be more careful with them then. I should get them sometime this week. I just hope they're not fake. I've seen so many articles on fake CX300s. One of the ways to distinguish from a fake is to check the exact length of the cord. If it's off by even a few mm, it's fake.

I know sound quality will be a factor too, but I can't tell if it's a fake if I don't have something to compare the audio quality with.

the II"s are certainly better
whether or not its fake you gotta look at the guides, and contact sennheiser or look at their site to see if they are authorized dealers.
now if you got a steal of a deal...you can be pretty sure you bought fakes.

Well they were $30 after being discounted by 50%. $60 doesn't seem very cheap. I've seen the earbuds as low as $15-20. Those I'm sure are fakes.

I should get them tomorrow if I'm really lucky, but probably some time next week. I'll do an in-depth analysis and report back.

I assume you haven't got these yet.

Since i'm also interested in buying these from mymemory, here's what i found. Mymemory is an established e-shop. There are good reviews and bad reviews about it. They have a twitter account, a Facebook page and a youtube account.

They advertise the sennheisers on youtube so i doubt they sell counterfeits, at least knowingly.

Now, about the price. The price is quite good, but not too good to be true. Play.com which is a sennheiser authorized dealer sells them for even less than 19.99 pounds that mymemory does. Unfortunately play.com is the only authorized dealer from Jersey, where mymemory is also operating from. This means mymemory is not an authorized dealer. This doesn't mean they necessarily sell counterfeits, but we can't be 100% sure they sell authentic sennheisers either.

I'm still on the fence whether to order these from mymemory or not, but when you receive them please let us know. I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in finding cheap, authentic sennheisers.():)

Hey. So I sent an email to MyMemory, and they said that the headphones are definitely authentic. I know they could just be lying, but that's still a bit of reassurance.

I actually forgot about Play, and ended up paying about 2 pounds more. Play had them for 15 pounds, MyMemory was 17 pounds for me (half-off at the time).

Anyways, I STILL don't have my earbuds. They're actually a day or two late now. I'll wait another day or so and then send them an email. I ordered these on the 3rd I think. They said 5-10 business days, been like 12 I think.

This free shipping shit is terrible. I hate it so much. But if I get faster paid shipping to Canada, it costs me a fortune. I was looking at Amazon.com dealers. Earbuds were like $20, shipping was $40. -_-;

Free if you're in the states though!
Might have been fakes though. $20 is REALLY cheap for them.

When I do get them, which I'm really hoping will be this monday or tuesday, I'll provide an update.

Hehe, me too. Their answer was the same. That they can guarantee for the authenticity of the seinnheisers.

I wanted them in white, that's why i paid a bit more. As long as they're authentic, no problem.

Yeah, i assume low cost shipping from UK to Canada could take a while. I ordered them on the 16th, they told me my order was dispatched on the 17th, but with Christmas and all that, i don't really expect to have them before Christmas even though i'm in Europe.

Please do. I sure will. Whoever gets them first i guess. I hope you'll have your package soon and the headphones will turn out to be authentic.:)

My brother got me the CX300-II's for Christmas, but the Amazon vendor shipped us the old CX300's instead. I'm having a hard time believing it was an accident. But I suppose that's the chance you take, hopefully I get the correct ones with little hassle.
