Congrats! The fiance and I have been house hunting for the past month. We are going to look at a house tomorrow, hopefully it won't need much work and will be what we are looking for.

Not bad. Not bad at all. ROFL at the interior funishings. Did some senior citizens own it before you did?

Beware of the basement until it rains really hard for a few days and you can be sure that it won't fill with water. The previous owners of my house said the basement had never flooded, but then this region was just coming out of a 10 year drought at that time, so there may never have been enough sustained rainfall to cause flooding. Nowadays it floods about once every 2 years.

edit: Congrats.

It's in Groesbeck. I never heard of the place before I saw the listing and I lived less than 10 miles from it.

i can get my van in but the other side is full with bikes, play toys, tools and my rideing lawnmower.

ohwell you live and learn. next house will have a 3+ car garage or a barn i can use.

Amen. we have a two-car and with a large suv and 'stuff' for 2 kids a 3 car garage is almost mandatory. Pulling the cars in or out takes 10 minutes and we have still hit a lot of items.

I am hoping to buy my parents crib when they down-size and they have a 3.5 garage , acre of flat grass in the back, at the end of a cul-de-sac in a great neighborhood, near all major shopping and highways, in a great school district. The downside being the over $4K in annual taxes.

Congrats!

The mortgage, car note, and everything aren't even half of my monthly net income, so there shouldn't be any talk about too much debt here. Good attempt though.

it's tempting but my wife and i love it here: beautiful city (populace is a little nutty, but it adds to the charm) family close but not too close, good jobs, good friends and great weather. housing is painfully out of line with salaries but that's the case with 75% of california anyway.

Congrat. I'm going to be a first time home owner next month too, but i can only afford a townhome here in the bay area. anyway the real estate market looks really slow now, i hope my new home's not going to depreciate in value...

Where did you find Miss Kitty? I want one just like it to scare off my neighbors. I'll rig it with a razor blade on its tongue. :)

Nice house!
