In Madison, Wisconsin, for well under a quarter of a million dollars! (I just read that LA housing thread - OMG!)

Yesterday, I had to shovel 6 inches of snow off the driveway and sidewalk (the house is on a corner, so I have to do two sides). 🙁 But a friendly neighbor did most of the sidewalk for me! 🙂

I just bought a new washer and dryer, and I have to get a lawnmower now. I haven't even moved in yet, and this thing is a money pit.

But the Homeowner's Association Fee is only $18 per year. 🙂

Yeah, the bedrooms are small, but I'm the only one who'll be living there, unless I get a dog. 😛

The HOA is, indeed, $18 / year. At least that's what the disclosure stated if I understood it correctly.

NO ROBE AND WIZARD HATS ALLOWED! :evil:
 
that's a steal!
we're looking at houses in NJ and for 300K all we can get is a 1500-1800 sq ft townhouse built in the late 80's. Taxes are 5K a year and association fees are 180/month
 
Holy cow! I went by that house when I went to see my girlfriend! o.o

My girlfriend lives about 15 minutes outside Madison. I'll be trying to come back around mid-June, perhaps we can visit? 😛

Maybe we should have a Madison meet 😛 YoYo could come too

😛 I'm moving from a 1 bedroom apartment, so I don't have much furniture (or a spare bedroom set) yet. I'm trying to figure out how I want to wire the house for a LAN.

Do the Ultimate AT mod! Get JackMDS out there for networking, Your local YoYo can come out and do Home Theatre, Lola can handle the bedroom, and Icy can bring in the babes. Me and uhohs will handle the young chicks 😛 Uhohs can get the asian ones..

It will be fun! I'll bring my robe and wizard hat! 😉

$18 a year is nothing in comparison to some HOA out in CA where it's $400+ a month!

Ah the joys of a buying your first home. Mowing the lawn, shoveling snow, raking leaves. The best part is when you go to do those things for the first time, you realize you have to go buy the tools to do it.
