Bought my first gun today

Picked up a Glock 19. My buddy has one too and I've never had any issues shooting his, so I decided to get the same thing. I do think I'll invest in extended magazine and slide releases. My thumb hurts just from playing with it at the store and taking it apart once at home. Anybody have recommendations for accessories or cheap 9mm ammo?

Remember to always look down the barrel and pull the trigger a couple of times to make sure you don't see any bullets in there before you put it away.

Also be careful if you're tackling somebody, those guns have dendancy of randomly removing themselves from your gun holder and shooting the person in the back. Not sure why they do that.

😛

In my opinion, the Glock 19 is the perfect pistol. There are other guns that are better in certain areas, but for an overall package, the Glock 19 is very hard to beat.

Congrats, a wise choice. While I'm not a glock guy (just don't like the grip angle) you can't go wrong with a glock.

I wouldn't spend the money on an extended mag release, its not needed... get some night sites, a good holster, ammo, and take a good class... have fun with a great gun!

Here's hoping you've got a gun lock and/or gun safe. Remember, if someone actually DOES invade your home while you're present (unlikely), there's 50/50 odds that they'll get to your gun before you do - and while most crackhead thieves are pretty frail, they do have a strong rep for itchy trigger fingers.

lol  Hahahahahaha..

Do we have an arms race going on here?

All I own in an old Marlin .22 rifle (measly but fun & cheap) from when I was a kid.

Now, my GF, that's a different story: Remington 12-gauge pump, Glock .40 target model (compensated barrel), Taurus Titanium 7-shot revolver .357 Magnum.

Not saying you're the type of guy, but don't ever cheat on her.

I recommend ammo. I mean a pistol does not need accessories per se but practice so I'd buy ~2000 rounds of 9mm lugar (expect to pay $300-400) and practive a bit. Also get 40 rounds of CORBON 115gr DPX for self defense rounds to keep in mags.
