i just came back from the computer show.
i'm building 2 systems, one is a celeron 800 and the other is a p3 1gz

i also bought supposedly 256mb micron pc133 RAM also. i'm running win2k, and while its loading win2k in DOS i get a blue screen. if i decrease the speed of the RAM in BIOS it boots just fine.

i was wondering if someone can verify the RAMs for me, i tried navigating through micron's site but i guess i'm too stupid 🙁

here is the link of the ram i just bought. copy/paste into the address bar 🙂

<< micron cas3 ram should run at 133bus nonetheless right? >>

Yes, it should run @ 133. You mentioned that you decreased the speed in the BIOS - I'm assuming that you dropped your bus speed back to 100 MHz - correct? When you had your system set to 133 MHz for the bus speed, what were the settings for your memory? Did you have it set to "by SPD"? Or, were the settings for the memory set manually? If they were set manually rather than "by SPD", there could be one setting that the memory doesn't like @ 133 MHz. Setting the option to "by SPD" will ensure that the timing is set correctly for the memory because the motherboard will read the SPD (Serial Presence Detect) chip for these timings.

Good luck!!

yea it is on SPD in BIOS. i didnt manually change any settings. i wonder if they gave me pc100 RAM instead, i can't find my RAM on microns site.

PC100 memory is 8ns memory - Micron produced 8E, 8C, etc. You definately have PC133 (CAS3) memory.
