Hi All,

Just picked up a memory foam mattress, and I'm looking to nab a frame that is kinda nice looking - does anyone have any advice on what to get? What are the thoughts on ikea?

Something like this doesn't look too bad: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S99861533/

Edit: Actually, how about this? Seems cheap enough, and looks simple enough, how would it do for a foam mattress?

But will I miss having a headboard? Is that frame too low? What other choices are there that won't cost an arm and a leg?

Thanks!

i dont have a memory foam mattress but this is the frame i have that will also work with one

http://www.haikudesigns.com/relax-bed.htm

the site also has lots of other nice ones

That was looking great....until I saw the price. :-/

I thought you needed a solid, hole free surface to place memory foam mattresses?

Level certainly - the easy way to deal with slats if you want a flat surface is going to be to put 1/4" plywood over top of the slats. I'll need a friend to let me use his truck to get the plywood home, but it's an option that works well for me, if I find the slats to be an issue.

Of the second link in the OP - the kit bed - how do you think it'll handle the weight of the bed + 2 people? Would adding extra support in the middle of the bed be wise? I doubt it could hurt at least?
