Bought a Wii today.

Congrats. I remember getting my Wii. Waiting all night out in the cold, it seemed that chances of getting a wii were small. Finally, come morning, I acquired a nice, shiny, awe-inspiring new Wii promising all sorts of exciting new entertainment and stimulation.
 
I just sold my Wii today yet I have the same joyous feeling you do!!!!!

Now some people in a old people home can play Wii Bowling woohoo!!!
 
I do feel kind of sorry for everybody who is so excited about their Wii only to have all of ATOT tell them how much they're going to hate it.

we got my dad one for christmas of 2007. i had my kids over playing and a couple of times forgot to switch back to his cable from the wii input....so he hid the wii and never got it back out.

3 weeks ago he saw one on tv and said it looked like fun, and he wanted one....having forgotten that he hid his, and cant remember where he put it. *sigh*

 
whenever there's a party or get together, everyone plays the wii nonstop
however by yourself, not so much

I got it at launch and played all the games I could. I got bored after the lack of really good games. I just ended up spending money to upgrade my pc so I could play all the really good games or I just visit my brother to play his PS3.
 
The fun thing with the wii is you can load up all the classic mario games too. They're more fun with people around though. Not something I'd buy unless I constantly had parties and stuff.

To the people that says Wii is boring:

There are barely any games that are entertaining anymore. They all either overplay one gimmick, try too hard at doing graphics or live off of past games that sold well. There's no more plot, thought, or creativity put into them anymore. They are nothing more than interactive Hollywood.

Sadly I've had the opposite reaction. I haven't bought a PC game in over a year (shitty console ports + shitty DRM ftl), and really don't like consoles, but have a blast with the Wii periodically. Been playing Guitar Hero a lot lately and never thought I would like that game.
