I suppose it depends how much you paid. A coworker had one until recently and it was a laggy mess.

That's a pretty old phone.

Do you mean Moto X instead of Droid X? They're two VERY different devices.

What's the use-case?

Honestly, if you're just going to use it as a phone, no apps, etc it should be fine.

Or if you want to use it as an MP3 player.

Keep in Mind the Droid X is a phone with 512mb memory and a single-core A8 (OMAP 3).

The Droid X was the beginning of Moto's downfall. The Moto X is them rising from their ashes.

If it's a Droid X, it's pretty darn old, and doesn't have the greatest support for root/ROM, and is hopefully running Gingerbread. You'll probably hate it.

If it's a Moto X, don't listen to the spec(dick?)-measurers. It's smooth, and the additioins they've added to Android are useful and update-able from Play. It gets updates fast and is root/ROM friendly. You'll probably enjoy it.

1 GHz Cortex-A8, same cpu on the galaxy captivate. It'll make a great door stop.

A droid x is durable as hell. I threw mine against pretty much everything and it just kept going (and it stayed in surprisingly good cosmetic shape). You couldn't pay me to use a droid x again.

I'm just gonna use it as a phone, MP3 player and notebook. Should be good? It was $70

As a former owner of a droid x it's fine for mp3's and calling. But for anything else it's laggy as fudge. Texting was slow and buggy, browsing the web was god awfull. I would recommend rooting it if you wanted any usability.

Treat the headphone jack with great care. My X developed a lot of static and would frequently register disconnected headsets toward the end.

I had my Droid X for 3 years. It was my very first smart phone. Loved loved loved that phone. I was amazed that it was like holding a mini computer in my hand. It finally died on me, so I got rid if it while I was in South Korea.

I had one a while back and thought it was a good phone. Still know a few people who have them. They're like tanks. They still run Gingerbread but motoblur isn't too bad.

i remember when i got mine i felt like a total pimp with a huge screen, but its total crap now. its stuck on an old version of android, when i messed with my old x a few months ago it couldnt even render some web pages. 70 isnt a bargain i it means u arent getting lte, u should have gotten like a razr, they are about 100 now or a razr m for 150 or best of all motox x for 300

he had much better hardware options for not that much more munnie. dx at 70 in 2014 is a major fail

never claimed it was a good deal or the best option, I would have never suggested he get that phone, I had a DX for 3 years I know how shitty it is.

However, since he does have it, might as well offer him options for android 4.4 since they are (surprisingly) available.

For a phone, I think the OP might have been better with a Lumia 52x phone on a prepaid plan from Walmart/TMO or Straight Talk and saving his money for something more modern.

Pre-Jelly Bean Android on a A8 and 512MB RAM? I think pulling my hair out by the bundle would be a less painful experience.

Keep us updated. For phone calls, messaging, MP3, light social networking and the like it should be fine. I know plenty of people still using the X/X2.
