Bought a used car - what should I check?

I think they are very valid and well thought out. I didnt see much missing I wouldnt do myself. Making a print out of that and giving to friends and families wouldnt be a bad idea.

He did leave one thing in the engine part left out which is after the engine warms up remove the oil cap. If there is any smoke coming out of there it is caused by blow by (gasses getting past the rings into the crankcase) which leads to a worn engine. Little smoke not too too bad but if it is pouring out of there pass. Also he forgot to mention that synthetic oils doenst smoke. So if they do an oil chage with pure synthetic oils you may not see any smoke at all and still be a problem. The smoke however from worn rings will still come out where you put the oil in if the engine is tired.

And for thoes of you failing the emmisions test with your clunker remember this. Do a oil change with synthetic oils and you may pass next time ;)
