I'm looking mainly at this monitor to pair with a 5870. I'd like either 1080 or 1200, and this appears to be one of the lowest input lag monitors out there. I'd like opinions on that and any other suggestions before I pull the trigger on a monitor. It doesn't need to be good for anything besides gaming, because I'm running a HDMI out to my Samsung PN50B650 (50" plasma) for videos. Mainly will be used for Left 4 Dead and SF4 for the time being until Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 are released. So response time and input lag is paramount. I'm color-blind and have difficulty differentiating any color in the middle of the spectrum, so while I appreciate the color of a sips screen, it's a bit wasted on me.

Thanks in advance!

Can you throw a 3d mark score up!?!?!?! Sorry, I have a dell LCD stuck at nothing greater than 1280x1024.

"...So response time and input lag is paramount..."

I guess that's the reason.

Not the only one. :) ~8% of Caucasian males are colorblind to some extent. Anyone interested can see the world through colorblind eyes here. http://www.webexhibits.org/causesofcolor/2.html I'm told it's pretty drab. I'm M-cone absent.

People who are colorblind probably are so because they descend from people who evolved in ice age Europe hunting in snow. You do that for 30,000 years, you might develop an adaptation that helps you sense motion or slight variances in colors in an environment limited in color range. You can be proud of it though, because there's no other evolutionary theories as to why colorblindness exists, and has persisted in the population. This is the reason it exists in animal kingdom too, hunting.
Any genetic variance that is in a minority of the population, and is not wiped out over time is most often a genetic advantage.

The US military and others use colorblind people to spot things in surveillance because they tend to catch things people with normal vision all miss. Slight variances in some colors such as khaki can be seen or noticed easily by some types of colorblind people. Camouflage typically only works on normal vision, colorblind people can spot it easier. Texture and brightness are more apparent to colorblind people, due to the reduction in color signals. It basically removes unnecessary distractions for night hunting, hunting in the snow. Night vision is enhanced for people with colorblindness as well. It also allows us to save money on cheaper LCD technology without feelings of regret.

My card is in the mail, so I can't give you 3dmark scores yet. I'm on a 8800GT until then.

Input lag, response time is worth comparing. I use a plasma tv, known for great colors compared to LCD. I bought it for it's response time, fluid motion, 24P processing and viewing angle over LCD tvs.
Just an example as to why I didn't buy the cheapest LCD for my television, while I can't enjoy THX accurate color by any means, I can enjoy images being as accurate to real life (as I see it) on the screen. That said, personally, I don't care if it's accurate-to-life for me, because I know my view on reality is pretty skewed compared to how most people see it anyway.

Either way.. still looking for a LCD. :)

:( Ok. I'm going to order the 25.5inch Asus if that's the verdict from everyone (silence).
