Bought a new toy

About a month ago i decided when I bought a new car i'd trade in my 01' F-150. Well two weeks ago I went to ford and looked at the Flex. I wanted something that had the room of a SUV/Expedition but the gas mileage better than that of my F-150 and the Flex seemed to be the perfect fit. I test drove the car about 6 times before I said yes to buying it. After talking numbers with them I ended up making the purchase. It certainly is a love itor hate it design but i happen to love it.

The interioris very comfortable and easily seats 7 people/6 adults yet going to and from the airport last weekend (40 miles) i averaged 29.5mpg. The engine doesn't have the same get up and go as my truck did but i really don't care as much about speed as I do comfort. I ended up getting the rear DVD for the kids and the built in navigation and sat radio for me 🙂.

Here are some additional pics 🙂

I'm still mixed on it ... but congrats, looks nice!

I test drove an F150 recently and have to say I was impressed. I know a Ford Service guy and he raves about the quality in the Ford line.

Yes it's definitely a love it or hate it design. Not my cup of tea but if you like it and got a good deal on it then good for you.

Looks nice. I like that there are so many car-based SUVs these days. Most people don't need truck-based ones and really just want the room.

I didn't think that anyone was buying SUVs anymore (and that looks like an SUV). I do agree that it looks like the Scion Xb ... the ugliest of the uglies.

I do like the interior ...

yeah i test drove the F150 Platinum and if it wasn't for the family i think i'd have that now lol. The MSRP for it was $42 and i walked out before tax and title for $28, 34k-trade in. Tire marks in the drive way? New drive way new tires...no clue how they showed up. And it has fords V6 in it.

Love to get one for the wife. She needs the capacity of a minivan but I would love to get her something with better gas mileage (like the Flex) but DAMN I hate the way it looks.

Great idea shot in the foot by bad aesthetics.

Absolutely hate the style, Kia Soul, Scion, Flex, ick.

But has some good tech in it most likely, did ya get the Sync system? I like that on the Fusions.

Yeah has the sync built into the navigation. Love it!

I can have each of the kids listening to their own thing on the headsets (each has its own channel) and me listening to what i want. So one of the kids can listen to their mp3 player while the other listens to the movie and i can listen to the radio/sat radio/internal HD/movie. Really love how well they did it.
