This reminds me of the "I went out for a bag of milk (bag? wtf) and came back with this" thread (this=a gun, obviously).

Here are the steps to purchase for those who live in Michigan...

- Apply in person for a License to Purchase.
- Wait for background check.
- Return to pick up the License to purchase. You have 10 days to purchase.
- Purchase pistol.
- Return back to the police department within 10 days of purchase to register & safety inspection.

Rinse and repeat for each pistol you wish to purchase. If you have a CCW you can skip all of this. The only thing you have to deal with is an NICS check that is completed by the dealer.

That's a ridiculous amount of red tape to buy a gun. The police have no business with what kind of guns you want, buy or own. I don't know why so many people think the police are an authority on firearms anyway.

lol. Here are the steps in PA:

1) Order pistol online
2) Ship pistol to local FFL dealer
3) Drive to FFL dealer
4) FFL dealer calls in a 30 second background check
5) Pay FFL dealer $26
6) Leave with gun.

German quality? I love Sigs, and H&Ks. My H&K USP Compact just went full auto on me and has to be shipped back to H&K. So I figured it was a good excuse to buy a new pistol, since that HK was my primary carry weapon.

I suppose I could have carried one of my Sig p228s.... or my p229... or my p239, or p232. Or my Kimber Ultra CDP II.

Kinda of a bitch, since no one makes holsters for the PPS yet.

i want more guns but i don't want to pay for them. i also don't want to pay for the ammo either.

so are guns so expensive because they are "scary" or would they still cost the same if they were considered just another tool like a hammer?

Go take a gander at Blazer 93s or Kreighoffs. Not "evil black rifles" and runs tens of thousands.

Iowa has a 24 hour waiting period after you have been approved by the nics check. It's a real pita to call nics and have them run the background check. They are not nice at all.

you know how people are afraid of guns because they use them to kill other people? guns have a very negative stigma.

Don't mind Alkemyst, he's just an idiot. He's been ok for a couple years now, but it looks like he's back to his old self.

Yes, I contacted H&K in Alabama, and they gave me a return authorization number.

Now if I kept it, knowing that it's a machine pistol, THAT would be illegal. Unregistered Title II weapon. 10 years in Club Fed.

Bond would never carry something this ugly.

He MIGHT carry the PPS in all black when it comes out in another month... but I bet he sticks with the P99.

Ah gotcha. I thought you mean which gun can you use to kill a kind of scariness

While lawsuits got rid of the sub $100 gun market, there are still some out there. Phoenix and Hi-Point in particular. You can still find Jennings, Bryco and Lorcin (all the same folks) still making Saturday Night Specials. Just a bit more expensive than they used to be.

They are still all around the same price as they have always been (taking into account inflation).

Every sub compact I have ever purchased was intended to be used as my carry. When buying a gun you intend to carry, at least for me, aesthetics are not even a consideration.

I'm always surprised at how cheap they are. I'm not sure why, I just imagined they'd cost more.
