Like others have said, a 250 is a good size to start with - or even keep for a longer time. I think many people put too much value on the big bikes. Going fast isn't the only thing riding is about.

MSF is a good idea, get good gear! Helmet, leather jacket, good gloves should be a minimum..

Have a lot of fun on that little bike! Once break-in is over, you'll have a good time wringing out that little engine's neck ;)

If you have any questions, just ask..

Only 500 more miles and an oil change and break in is over ;)

cool bike man! be careful with it. don't race with a bike. it is more difficult. take tools with you. my gramp has a big BMW 1150GS. it so cool. we are going with it this summer on a trip from Paris to Norway.

Great choice on a starter bike - and if you keep it clean/nice you won't lose too much when you sell it in a couple years. Have fun!

i been rideing for close to 25 years now. i sold my CBR recently and miss it. I just want something to put around on now. heh to bad they didnt make those pocket bikes with a 125-200cc engine heh

since im rather short (5'5) its kinda hard to find bikes that fit. the CBR ouc an mod but those old ninja 250's are a little smaller. but a lot of fun!

i wish i had the money for that but they do make pocket bikes with 110 cc engines...thats 60 mph and enough power to flip you over if you gas it too much. Im also short at 5'3. I always wondered whats the smallest motorcycle they have on the market.

Stick with that 250 for at least 6-7 months of solid riding. (not just once a week..) then step up to - at most - a gs500/ ninja 500 *maybe* a 650.

Take note of who you ride with. There's a lot of douchebags on a 'busa' or 'gsxr 1000' who might give you sh!t about riding a 250. You'll be faster than them in the corners, a better rider, and alive in 3 years. Don't let them bother you.
