:(Got it home and opened it to find the pump has 1/2 barbs allthough it needs 7/16, they are to big to screw in. Rad is 7/16 with 7/16 barbs fits good!

Everything else, (including cpu block, reservoir, hoses and y-fittings), are all 1/2". Also there is no back plate for cpu.

Anyone have this kit? Did you have any of these problems?

I don't have that kit, I do have a DD pump and Maze 4 gpu block. In all the H2O stuff I've owned or seen I've never heard of 7/16" fittings. All the tubing is either 3/8" or 1/2", there are some real cheap low end systems that use 1/4" but they are basicly useless. Since most of your system is 1/2", just use 1/2" tubing, it will seal ok on a 7/16" fitting if thats really what it is.

Most of the cpu blocks I have don't come with any kind of backplate and I've never had a problem with them, not sure why you would really need one.

Has to be 7/16, its only a hair smaller than the 1/2, deff not 3/8. The install they sent with it has guy saying and showing backplate. I dont think it will seal properly, dont wanna take that chance:Q.

The barbs wont screw into the pump without stripping out the threads, the barbs from rad fit it just fine, which would cause shreads of plastic to be running into pump and rest of sys!
Gonna take it back and try another, or check another box, mabye someone had this one and returned it!

7/16th is popular with the guys at XS.

7/16th is also smaller than 8/16th [1/2] ;) Push a bit. Soak it in hot water (NOT BOILING WATER), or use some lube. It'll go right on. If I can fit 1/2ID tubing over 3/4 barbs, you can do this :p Trust me.

The problem is the tube is 1/2 and the rad is 7/16, too small for the tubing, the cpu block is 1/2, the pump is drilled for 7/16 but they sent me 1/2. Nothing fits!

boshuter is right, DD doesnt make 7/16" barbs, only 1/2" or 3/8". Now, as trevor said, you can use 7/16" tubing with 1/2" barbs, and most people over at the XS forums prefer this, but im not exactly sure what you are talking concerning the barbs on your kit. Your kit should be all 1/2" barbs. Hi flow barbs are somewhat tapered at the ends, so maybe thats why you think its 7/16" but its not. Also, the Maze4 intro kit is a very old kit, and the price has not changed on this product for long time. For 165 bucks, you can get much better components nowadays.

Heres a good guide from the folks over at XS: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=75873

Went back to microcenter today and they opened the rest of their kits to find the same problem in the ones they had left on the shelf.

again the rad barbs were smaller than the 1/2 barbs, but not 3/8. I can see putting 7/16 hose on 1/2 barb but not 1/2 hose on 7/16 barb!

Wait wait.
Do you mean the tubing is 1/2" OUTER diameter?

Know this:
When ref'ing to barbs/etc.; ALWAYS refer to the OUTER diameter.

When ref'ing to tubing; ALWAYS refer to the inner diameter.

Hence 1/2" tubing works with 1/2" barbs.

Does that little tidbit make anything clearer in terms of what you can provide to us?

I think you mean that the tubing is 1/2" OD and the Rad is 7/16" OD... that'd make a bit more sense to your situation.

Without getting into the whole od id thing, there was some that fit and some that were too small!
