Not unless you paid a little over 400k for that condo. Houses are cheap in midwest not Northeast.

New 2 bedroom condos are about 350K here in parts of NoVA.

I just bought my first townhouse right outside DC and paid well over 400

2 bed 2 bath in Santa Monica CA = 550- 600K

Is that on a beach?

The house you bought would go for around 650-700K in the area of my condo. The condo cost me around 300K.

EDIT: I posted nothing.. wow.

Compareable house in my area
another

so actually more like 750-800K

I would rather take a condo instead of those two houses 🙂.
First one is Lot Acreage: 0.13 and the second is Lot Acreage: 0.25.

It must be only some parts of VA that are expensive cause I have friends in VA and their house was cheaper and bigger than mine.

well I guess you pay for Location.

I'm going to let you in on a secret that will help you deal with real estate in the future.

Never try to value your house by what other houses are ACTIVE on the market for. You only value your house by other houses that have already SOLD. I wish more home owners understood this notion.

Home owners constantly tell me which houses are for sale on their street and in the area. I ask them if the house sold yet, they always say no, so I tell them that if it hasn't sold, it doesn't matter to me.

Well when we bought the condo we made our bid based on the recent sales in the same area... However in the Metro DC market things are consistently selling over the asking price... so in this case the houses I posted links to really do sell for at least ~what the listing was.

But Zomb very very nice house... I'm jealous🙂
