Bought a 5G Nano confused about the charger

I have a 1g touch and today picked up a Nano, I know they use a different charger. But how's the same USB cable able to charge but my car charger says "charging not supported with this accessory" Not a huge deal but it doesn't make much sense to me. I hope a 5g compatible charger will work with my Touch, I'd hate to have to have 2 separate car chargers.

It might have to do with the charging circuits in either the Nano or the charger.

The newer Nanos and iPhones don't support 12V charging.

I just charged my brother-in-law's iPhone in my car yesterday, he has a 3G. And I believe that I have charged Tyranicus' 3GS in there as well. The only thing I haven't tried yet is a 5G Nano. It is a Gigaware brand charger from Radioshack.

well I'm glad the same USB cord works because the person I bought it from didn't give me anything except the Nano itself. With that said nice little device, so much smaller than my Touch.
