It's slow, boring, looks hideous, and is very slow. I love it! Always wanted an early 90s piece of shit Geo Metro. This seems to be the spiritual successor. It's a 5-spd manual. Got it for a little over $12K.

Looks like the new stingray?? Nice!!! They gave me a spark for a rental car and it was really cool. Whats amazing is that they look small outside but very spacious inside. I threw a full size bike in the back. LOL

5 spd for the win. There is just something wonderful about driving an econobox with a stick. Call it minimalism, slumming, or lunacy but I dig it.

It's minimalist. I chose the Fiesta because I wanted the power. I run more interstate than city, and the 0-60 with 2-4 people with the spark was just downright dangerous. But if I stayed in the city more or at least the 55 highways I'd have gotten the spark 1LT CVT hands down.

That's one of the reasons why I bought it. The manual version of the Spark is lighter, gets better gas mileage, and is much cheaper. I also prefer manual transmission cars.

I hope your commute doesn't include the highrise.

People blow this crap way out of proportion. The "task" of driving a 5-speed is completely second nature.

^ I agree.

I searched high and low to find an econo-stick, and snagged a 2011 Honda Fit Sport 5mt a couple weeks ago. There is just something so charming about driving a small econo-stick hard that no full blown sports car can match. I call it "Insanity at sane speeds". :D

+2

It's funny how the Spark is twice the height of the 'Vette. The OP better hope some punks don't tip the Spark when it's parked outside. :p

Should be good for getting around downtown/tight streets. You could even take that thing through the french quarter :)

I have an earlier version of it.

The car truly sucks in every way. Still, I've gotten used to it. I even managed to make it fit a full-size bicycle somehow.

And the gas mileage really sucks. This is a tiny manual transmission car. Last fillup I got 25MPG.

My friend has the electric version and it scoots really nice! But it's a lot more expensive.
I probably would have ended up with just that very thing when I was looking for a new DD a couple of months ago if they were available outside of Oregon/California. I was jazzed about the possibility of not buying gas ever. I considered a Spark with the CVT, but ended up with a Sonic RS. The first "econo-box" I've ever owned, but oddly I think it just might be my favorite vehicle for some reason.

I don't know what it is about those Sparks, every time I see one I turn my head, just something "lovable" about them, kinda like the original Beetles. Enjoy that Spark.

There's nothing wrong with the Spark (provided the ignition doesn't turn off if you have a key ring) :)

I drive very economically.

I would disagree with that. If you get 25mpg from an 85hp 2300lb car, something is very uneconomical about your driving.

25mpg is probably about what I get in my 150hp 2900lb car. Which is already known for somewhat bad gas mileage for its class. And I don't drive 'economically.'

becareful with these cars there is a new trend where they tip this car over just to be funny. You dont want to come back to your parking space and see your car upside down.

As for the cars appeal, there is none. Not one of my friends wants to be seen in these cars.

That's because the car itself sucks that much. Every other car I drive I always get better than average gas mileage.

Went to and from work twice with the car and averaged 35 mpg. 80% of my drive is on the Interstate and I stay around 75 mph.
