I bought 2 emachines T6536 computers link and review for about $220 each.
Quick specs (each system contains):
AMD Athlon? 64 3800+ processor
1024MB dual-channel DDR (2 × 512MB), 400MHz (PC3200)
250GB 7200 rpm IDE
DVD-RW and XP Home
Now, I can't identify the mainboard, but it doesn't seem to great:
1 PCIe x16 slot, 3 PCI, and NVIDIA 6100 for the graphics
I also have a x1950 Pro laying around as well as a 500W power supply
Now, I'm going to use this system to play games mostly. I don't want to spend too much more money, maybe only $150 more max.
Should I:
Remove the memory from one computer and add to the other, giving me 2GB (and add the vid card and power supply) and sell the extra components? Buy a stick of memory to the stripped computer and sell it whole?
Buy a better motherboard and upgrade the memory to DDR2?
Leave the systems as is and sell one?
Also, I should not I don't feel safe overclocking a eMachines computer... their stuff just doesn't seem too durable or well-made.
