I have a 1.33ghz Althlon Thunderbird with an ASUS A7V133 (KT133A) motherboard.
I have a 2 x 128meg stick of Generic PC133 and a 256meg stick of Kingmax PC150. (512meg total)
I want to overclock this thing to 1.53ghz. I am currently oc'd to 1.4ghz (via Multiplier) with the
stock retail AMD cooler that came with my CPU. Is it possible to get to 1.53ghz with my current
setup?? and if so, what is the quietest HSF (hopefully not too expense)
that use that will enable me to get this baby to 1.53ghz???

Alpha Pal 8045. Try the enermax adjustable fan so you'll have a choice between performance and quiet. btw, what are your temps with the retail hsf at 1.4?

athlon 1400@1630 (10x163) 1.85v, Volcano 5, www.coolerstar.com

By the way dont be tempted to get a volcano 7, they actually perform worse, but have a stupid thermal diode you can check temps from. Much much worse.

I agree with chopstxxx about the Alpha 8045, just be sure your mobo has the four though-board mounting holes.

I have KR7A/RAID, 1600+ game-stable @148MHz fsb and have never seen a temp higher than 42C under load.

Alpha 8045U (Delta fan) was $50+shipping at Newegg. Can't hear the cpu fan noise above the normal background noise of case and ps fan.

Hope this helps!
