Bottom Line: Is ENERMAX "Whisper" actually quiet?

both have temperature controlled fans, but the FC psu can go to sleep with your motherboard when hooked up properly.

As for the loud vs quiet arguement, it depends on who's talking.

Quiet for a delta 7k rpm owner is a lot different than someone who sticks an 80mm fan on their heatsink to lessen noise.

I found that the enermax was clearly audible outside of my room when I didn't have music on and my door open. With an athlon 1gh+ heating that case, that psu will get loud. It's air noise, and not mechanical noise. If you're running 1-3 case fans already, it's not as noticable, but with only it and the cpu fan running, it was easy to hear it, to the point where it was impossible not to hear it.

The unit is not so loud that you can't think, but it's basically not much different than running two average cfm 80mm fans in a case.
