Supposedly a DDoS attack. Amateurs. If the script kids really want to do some damage, they should take XVideos off line and watch the chaos ensue.

The group is called Lizard Squad, and apparently Kim Dotcom paid them off last night with free accounts on mega privacy to stop the DDOS attacks. You can find them on Twitter, using whatever account isn't banned this week.
But this is impacting Microsoft also, which is good because it means two corporations are pissed and motivated to seek justice. I feel bad for Sony coming off the interview crap and now this.Going to be a lot of IT folks at Sony looking for work next month.
Not amateurs at all. They destroyed, on Christmas Day, connectivity for a huge number of xbox and sony gamers. I absolutely guarantee this resulted in a ton of pissed off people.
This morning on my PS4 I went to load dragon age and it spun forever in the "connecting to servers" issue. Yesterday it gave up after a while and let me in. Today I actually had to yank the cable on my PS4 because it seemed it was able to do just enough to trick the game into thinking it could connect, but it never could. Weird stuff.
I find it kind of humorous in a way. It just shows that the world isn't ready for mandatory online 'gaming' no matter how MS (or anyone) tries to spin it. It's made worse by the fact that it's a paid service.
Just think how this would impact 'you' if this was a 100% cloud service, or everything (single player included) required you to be online to play. It doesn't matter who's at fault, the only people who can fix/prevent it are the owners of said servers. If they aren't up to the task....well that creates a bit of a problem.
