Both Intel and AMD Stock Downgraded ...

Ouch ... double whammy for me. Both lost about 5%. Not looking good for the next few months. On the other hand, it is a buying opportunity for those still on the sidelines. Both are good buys, but Intel slightly better because of their huge businesses besides CPUs and FLASH.

This whole thing was totally stupid. The reason they got downgraded is because that company SCI wasn't hitting their revenue forecasts. The reason SCI didnt hit revenue forcasts is because they are in kentucky and charge more for building computers than other companies. Lots of manufacturing is being shifted off to mexico, trigem (emachines manufacturing division pretty much kds), or other companies on the west coast. I know for a fact that HP uses SCI and i've been told that this is what happened from my dad who works on one of those unnamed companies on the west coast that manufacturing is being shifted to. Computer demand is still very strong, and this is just a case of analysts not knowing how to analyse which is what the case usually is. BUY AMD now. Besides they make networking chips too, not just flash and cpus.

AMD is to release its 3rd quarter results on Oct 11 (I think). I fully expect them to again exceed earnings expectations. Flash has been fantastic (even better than Intel), and the Athlon processors have sold like hot cakes since their introduction doubling in sales every quarter. After the earnings announcement, I expect things to turn back around (most likely for both companies). Considering the reports that the CPU market is forcasted to have higher than expected growth for the next year, I find it amazing that any firm would downgrade the 2 largest CPU manufacturers. This really makes no sence to me (of course I have lost signifigant amounts of money over the last 2 days).

I been buying amd stock on the dip like crazy.. currently own 4027 shares. Also own crap loads of intel.. but not as much as amd.. Should have bought more yesterday.

The latest damage report:

Intel - down 25% from its high.

AMD - down 42% from its high.

Both were downgraded yet again on Friday, but it was triple witching too.

Nearly a 6 figure week for me, ouch ouch ouch ...
