My daughter had a bot (she thinks it was gamevance bot) on her laptop. She had Comcast's version of Norton current and running but it never detected the bot. MS Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool detected it, she had to download and install a special bot remover from Norton to clean it out of her computer.
The computer is now clean but she has a stack of DVDs and CDs she burnt from the computer. Is there a relatively simple way of scanning those CDs and DVDs (or should we even worry about them)? I did a manual custom run of MS Malicious Software Removal on one CD but even under custom settings it insists on doing a whole quickscan of the computer in addition to scanning the CD.
