Boston and I are officially parting ways:(

I love Boston. I wanted to stay here until I got married. But the high cost of rent and being jobless has got me scraping cash off the ground. I do not want to loose my car, I do not want to ruin my credit. Two part time jobs just isn't cutting it and i do not want my gf to pay the rent on her own. It looks like my gf and I and gonna move in with my parents for a few months until I can finally get a real job and build up my bank account. I am a city boy. I love it here, so I am sad🙁

Anyways...anyone here want a 1 Bedroom apt in Boston? Rent should be around the high 1500's (hot water and partial heat included). let me know and i will put in your name when I submit my lease ending papers.

So where you going?

Frankly, you can live more budget-smart in Boston.... I live in Cambridge next to Harvard which is about a 10 min drive into Boston. I pay $420 a month in a brand-new renovated apartment with 3 other roommates. Why don't you look into something like that so you don't have to leave this beautiful city.

Where else you gonna find Red Sox, Patriots & Celtics all in one?

I am going back to Lowell. When I left, I was so happy, so I am noy thrilled to go back. My gf and I were thinking about moving in with roommates, but my mother offered for us to live in one of her apartments for free so I can get my feet off the ground. It's hard to argue free, but i am only planning on doing it for about 2 or 4 months. After, we are looking into Natick or Cambridge.

If it were me, I would find it awkward moving in with my parents with my girlfriend. Although, it may be a good opportunity for her to get to know your family. If it were me, I would just find some roommates. Who know, mabye you could make some new friends.

Nah. my g/f knows them well. She even went on a vacation with us to China.

Props to you for offering your apartment.
Here's to getting flush again:beer:

Dude doesn't Lowell suck

Live somewhere near Boston and take the MBTA

It does suck...but it is free (I am blessed to have such a mother). I would live near Boston, but almost every place requires a 1 year lease. I do not want to sign anything at this moment. The only place that I could find something is Somerville, and that is actually worse than Lowell. Either way, we are planning to live in Natick after and spend only about 1000 on rent. That way, we can save money for a wedding (and I can save for an engagment ring).

I would live in Lowell for a year, but the commute for my gf's job would be absolutely horrible. We are gonna miss driving against traffic (and living right off of I90).

At this moment, I have no one to blame but myself. I had a job offer, but I said no because I thought I was worth more. I took a gamble on a company that I thought really wanted me, but I lost in the end (I made it to the third and final round of interviews).

BTW, I am really offering my apt. Let me know if any of you want it. At the risk of sounding like a girl, I am kind of attatched to this apt. I would rather have it go to a person who would take care of it rather than some spoiled rich college kid who will use it as a party place.

What are you doing paying $1500 for an apartment?

living within the city, in acceptable conditions, is too damn expensive. your money will go a lot farther in natck than cambridge or somerville.

There's always Quincy or Newton too =)
