Boston Acoustics BA7800 4.1 Speakers $64

This is not hot. These speakers were discontinued in 2001. These will be used or refurbished (not refurbished by Boston Acoustics).

I picked up a set of BA7900s(newer than the 7800s) from Directron last summer. They were $89 plus shipping. Shipping was about $22. Listed as new by Directron and they were not. Boston Acoustics only sells through authorized dealers (Gateway for pc audio) and Directron is not an authorized dealer. When mine quit working 3 months after purchase (no audio) Boston Acoustics offered to fix them and would not honor the warranty which Directron indicated existed. Cost would have been 3/4 of the purchase price from Directron. I chose not to take the gamble on the repair and picked up Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultras with a 4 year replacement warranty from Best Buy instead. Buyer beware! I will not be dealing with Directron in the future.

I later learned that Boston Acoustics warns consumers on their web site against purchasing from unauthorized vendors. In light of my experience you should avoid this cold deal.

im not here to be your mommys and hold anyones hand, nor should you beleive what some stranger says in a forum

stop being lazy and email them and find out, if it is used take half a sec and make quick responce back something to the effect "You should say that in description, I only like dealing with businesses I can trust."

That's strange... Directron has an excellent reputation.

Alas, I would love to pick these up. It may be controversial to say, but these are actually much better than the Klipsch or Logitech speakers... if you actually care about midrange and well balanced music.

I've had 3 different sets of BAs over the years. I've always liked the solidness to the product and cables that weren't thin and kinked. Sounded very nice as well. But, all gave up the ghost eventually. Not buying another. No reason these things should last longer.
