Boss said I'm not invited to company holiday party

so my boss just told me that there is no room for me at this year's company holiday party and I am not invited.

WTF.....

Some of you may remember from my previous threads that my boss and I didn't have a great relationship and he had anger/attitude/ego problems, but we worked them out about a month ago and I figured that everything was okay with us..

Then he tells me this?

Any ideas on what I should do? Should I just forget about it or should I talk to him about it?

As far as I know I'm the only one that is not invited. 😕

UPDATE: Boss is out for the rest of the week for the holiday, so I am going to have to sit down and talk to him on Monday.

HOWEVER,

He called in to the office today and told me that he gave bonuses out for thanksgiving and mine was direct deposited and in the amount of $1000.

This makes it even more confusing... cause if he doesnt like me and wants me out of here why would he give me a bonus?

UPDATE 2

Well, I spoke to him for a little bit today..

Basically, here's what went down.. .not word for word, but it should give you an idea of what happened

- told him i wanted to talk about the company party this year, and why i was not invited
- i was bothered by it because i was invited last year (and had a great time), and it was apperant that i am the only one not invited this year
- i basically told him that it made me feel like i wasnt part of the "team" and that it seemed that i was left out on purpose

so here's what he said:

- glad to hear that i had a good time last year, but from his memory of what he witnessed last year, it appeared that both my girlfriend and myself did not have a good time last year and he did not think that we appreciated everything that went into last years' party as much as everyone else did

Bullshit! Even if we didn't have a good time, this is no legit reason to not invite me.. What, he doesnt want anyone in his company to look bored in front of other companies? Even so, i guarantee we were not bored and did not look bored

then he says

- as far as being the only one not invited, it's for BUSINESS reasons. only inviting sales people and regional managers of our principal companies

I also think this is bull. I understand what he's saying (i'm in IT and operations, whereas everyone else in the company is a salesperson either inside our outside), but still... since when is a company holiday party about doing business/ talking about business? it's a time to celebrate the year and have fun with the people you work with (since that never happens any other time of the year)

Anyway, I didn't bother calling shens on his excuses.. i'm sure he knows that i know he's bullshitting.. he even had the nerve to say "well, if it means that much to you, blah cancelled and you can go if you want.." i told him "no, of course i don't want to go, especially after all this"

So there's the update... I'll begin the job search in january.... sick of this place. I told you all how egotistical he is and this is just one of many examples.....

ROFL is this a joke?

I mean not inviting you is one thing, but rubbing it in your face? 😕 shens

Wow I would tell his boss that your pretty upset over it. What kind of crap is that?
Might want to throw in some words like "discrimination" and what not 😉 😛

:Q

He actually SAID you are not invited?!?
What an ass.....
It's one thing to not invite you or not offer an invitation... but to actually go up to you and say... you're not invited because there is not enough room is total BS!

Fvck 'em...

Um, I'm gonna need you go ahead and come
in tomorrow. So if you could be here around nine, that would be great.
(starts to walk away) Oh, oh, yea?I forgot. I'm gonna also need you to
come in Sunday too. We, uh, lost some people this week and we need to
sorta catch up. Thanks.

that's exactly what I am thinking... This party is hosted by an organization that invites a bunch of companies in our industry.. It's a HUGE party, everyone is supposed to be there, and all my boss has to do is reserve X amount of tables/seats... what differene does one more chair make? Especially if everyone else in the company is invited.

My boss is the owner of the company, so there is nobody else higher up that I can talk to.

Honestly I do feel pretty upset that I wasnt at least invited..

I get along great with everyone else I work with, it has always just been my boss that has issues with people, and he and I worked ours out pretty recently.
