****UPDATE 2 - 2/27/04 ****
Talked to my boss - apparently just a few hours ago - the state troopers and internal affairs - they released a partial report today confirming by boss' side - that he had never shot at nor aimed a gun at the SWAT team that raided his house. (the aiming part I don't know how that is confirmed, don't ask me) If he had indeed shot at him the 6 SWAT officers would have filled him full of bullets on the front of his body. He was supposedly shot at 6 times - 3 missed. One hit him in the neck and 2 in the back (lower abdomen area). Supposedly his family is pretty prominent in the area (the DA's partner - no not gay partner but law partner - is best friends with his family - they know a bunch of people with the state troopers - they know everybody politically and his grandfather used to be a state senator). They said they're going to sue the hell out of the police department and the city.

Supposedly as well after the cops got done doing their thing - the family was allowed to go in. My boss and his uncle both used to be private investigators so they saw a bunch of stuff that supported their case - the burn marks on the doorway, the lack of missing bullet holes, casings lying on the floor never picked up by the cops. They called in their state trooper friend who took pictures of everything for the trooper's report. Now today the main detective/cop guy with the city police called wanting to ask a bunch of questions - sounded kind of ansy. (They suspect the cops know they're in deep sh!t because the family is well connected and the shooting is "unjustified")

He's now charged with 8 counts of attempted first degree murder

http://www.katc.com/ (THIS LINK NO LONGER HAS THE VIDEO)

Scroll down to "19 year old college student shot by Lafayette police officers"

From what my boss' wife is telling me, (my boss is still in LA - this story is different from the video) apparently he had taken 2 hits of X. He had gone home and started hullicinating - he thought he saw 3 guys raping a woman in front of his house. Then after they were done the 3 guys came into the house. Then he started shooting at the "attackers" and firing randomly. He then called the police.

Police came, he was still tripping. My boss' wife said he never fired upon police but was waving the gun around. There was a standoff. Then she said at 8 in the morning SWAT came in and shot him. She claims he never shot at them (unlike the video) - she said the Sheriff among other witnesses said there was no shots fired by him when they stormed the house. (That is in dispute of course)

Right now he's paralyzed from the waist down but in good spirits overall. Out on $1.2 million bond.

This is just nuts...my boss' wife's sister said the X probably was tainted with PCP or something along those lines in order for him to trip out so bad. I'm still kind of in shock at the whole thing.

I don't see this as a foreseeable consequence of taking ecstasy. I am constantly amazed by the holier-than-thou attitude of people here - you must have led some REALLY boring youths.

well it's too bad it had to come to this, but "it just goes to show you" that unprepared fools shouldn't mess around with powerful substances.

I found this story to be a little more interesting:
---------------
Couple stabs each other in domestic dispute

An Acadia parish couple is in the hospital after an alleged domestic dispute.

It happened earlier this morning at around 5:00 on the 1200 block of South Avenue J. in Crowley.

Apparently the man and woman stabbed each other.

Crowley police are still investigating the incident, we'll keep you updated as more details become available

what a knife fight!

Yep, and the way to spice up your life is to take illegal drugs. I am sure you are on the path to success with that attitude.

I am not "holier than thou" but I choose not to pop pills that can kill me either. Ecstacy is a drug and can cause harm. Fuk up your brain all you want but I don't plan on it.
KThanks bye.

I did do some drugs (not X or the like) when i was younger, im not claiming to be a better than anyone else. BTW, my life when i was young was better than yours despite any drug use.

That is sad....nothing worse than a bad trip. Glad I quit doing those kinds of dugs. Drugs that alter your mood are one thing, but ones that alter your perception are very scary. Especially when you have a vivid imagination.

You must be a profoundly boring person if you have to take drugs to have a good time.

i never did any drugs and never plan to do them (i'm 18, waste of money IMO) but it sounds like it'd be interesting to play CS and take E + PCP. Running around and all of a sudden you *see* birds flying by or something and you start shooting at them??
