Bose TriPort

Does anyone here have these expensive headphones? I am taking a trip to Spain in a couple days and the plane ride is pretty long. I want a good pair of headphones that sound good and are comfortable for several hours (10 hours total flight time). I saw them at Best Buy and they went for $150. Does anyone have any good reccomendations? Any feedback on the Bose's?

Canalphones such as Etymotic ER6 or ER4 for noise elimination and decent sound.

try www.head-fi.org for help.

And don't do Bose. Please don't waste your money.

I bought those triports last year, and kept them for about three weeks, but I returned them.
I'm not an audiophile, so take my opinions for what their worth..
They sounded good(sound was crisp clear imo), and they were fairly comfortable. What I didn't like about it was the construction of it. Basically, when I moved the plastic would make a noise like it's getting bent or something and I could hear (or feel it, i dunno) overtop the music. This is the plastic part that holds each of the sides together that goes over your head. The wire was more than long enough, if that's an issue. but then again, if i'm not mistaken, all headphones at that price range come with long wires. and to top it off, I usually wear gel in my hear, and when I would put those headphones on for an hour or so, I'd get a nice line going across the top of my head.
oh, and i doubt that you'll be able to wear these for 8 hours! they go around your ears and warm up after a couple of hours.

all in all, they have clear sound, but I think that unless you have a special place in your heart for bose, it's hard to justify 150$ for this set.

after i returned them, i read up on headphones, and it seems that sennheisers are generally well liked/rated...

edit: i had actually bought them because I was able to get a brand new pair for 117 CAD$ at the time...

Yeah... don't go with bose 😉

Are you looking for closed headphones as to not disturb people around you?

I have Sennheiser HD-280s that are very good at noise isolation, but I don't think I could wear them for 10 hours :Q
My girlfriend has HD 212s and they're much lighter. I think I could see myself wearing them for longer. They're on sale for $38 at amazon if you're interested.
