I had to put Bose in my title so everyone here will come to flame bose.
Please let me know in the 1000$ to 2000$ range what are my alternatives to Bose? I am considering buyin Bose at the moment. i want to get rid of my old prol Logic rack {huge} system. I want bose because of the tiny size. I know a lot of you will hate bose...but rather than be here to flame Bose....Recommend something else...and where to buy please :)
Thanx

if youre in for the looks (small speakers), then its ok (but still overpriced)... if u are in for sound quality.. buy something else

im no audiophile.. so I cant really give u any ideas

Bose... best in marketing. :D

I'm a poor college boy so i just got myself JBL NSP1s and got a deal on a Sony SA-WM40 from the Hot Deals forum :)... a lot cheaper than Bose... have no clue if it's as good because i never had the money to buy Bose anyway... but i'm perfectly happy with mine :D

They are a little above average but have the best marketing team in audio.

nakamichi invented those tiny systems. the sound quality on tiny speakers is limited by physics to somewhere between awful and not-so-good.

Go there, demo the speakers and then see if you can find them online cheaper. You are under no requirment to buy from the over priced store.

I used to be huge in Home audio....I had samples sent to my house from many audio companies...like speaker wires cables etc.
But i havent read anything on audio in 6 years or more.

The newform 645's bested my Thiel 3.6's by a wide margin. DO yourself a huge favor and look into them, never been happier.

The best speaker price/performance is B&W. Go check them out. The best Sub woffer is Velodyne but price/preformance is HSU.

you getting bose?? muhahaha!! j/k :p

look into energy or b&w - they don't need marketing hype to back up their performance.

Bose has impressed me the most but I'm sure there are better speakers out there but if you're just looking for home entertainment, Bose owns.

BOse doesn't "own" anything. They're a good example of successful marketing, that's all. When you buy a Bose product you're paying for precisely that, marketing.

If you're ever finding yourself attracted to a Bose product and aren't motivated to educate yourself go buy NHT instead. Their entire product line is good sounding, reasonably priced and a good "blind buy."
