Bose acoustimass cube speakers alternatives

Yes, bose sucks, but the form factor is exactly what I'm looking for.

I need to replace my beloved infinity tower speakers with something small, wall mountable, and with similarly great sounding (for music) attributes. My infinity's have a wonderfully smooth, non-shrilly sound signature that I like (more warm that "analytical" - might not be audiophile grade but I like it).

The bose cube speakers would be ideal, but I know bose sucks. If cubes won't cut it for a warm presence then I'm open to other options.

My rears are currently polk satelittes and those are fine, but I'd replace them in time as well. Budget is sub-$500 for a pair (closer to $300 would be fantastic).

Thanks!

If you are going small, do you plan to have a sub to cover the low end? Small satellites are gonna sound like...well small satellites.

Sorry, I should clarify - have a mid budget 5.1 system with a nice polk sub and polks on rear (which will also be replaced in time).

Bowers & Wilkins M1 speakers are what you are looking for.

Best Buy Magnolia has 'em for $225/each.

Hmm. Would in wall speakers be an OK choice as well? Plan on living here for a while so the investment may be worthwhile, but the sound quality - small speakers or in wall (sub $200/each). I'd do in ceiling as well, might be pretty chic!

It's only chic if you have white walls and metal chairs. Like in a dentist's office :whiste:

In walls are a lot more complicated to install. And if you picked the wrong spot, you would have to patch that drywall hole.

Bookshelf speakers are too big?

when i was looking at wall mounted speakers that were small I found the Boston Acoustics Soundware / XS / XL

Could look at those.
