Sorry I can't help you out. I would love to hear one of these clock radios. They make it sound like God came down from the heavens a told Br Bose how to make a radio. It is just a waveguide. Nothing new.

Yes, they are friggin remarkable.. very seldom will you see something live up to its advertisement, but this radio sounds great!! more Bass and quality sound than you would imagine could come from this little box.. Best clock radio I have heard, seriously. The People at Bose have been ahead of the game for years, they're just a quiet company, who doesnt do a lot of advertising, its mostly run by word-of-mouth. I saw a demo at fry's (local electronics bargain barn) once where they had 4 of these little Bose speakers (at an ungodly price, but well worth it) that were about 3x4" on little stands, and they surround you, and tie into a theatre setup, and let me tell you, I was impressed!! these sounded better than my 12"s at home. It is really amazing what they can do. BTW, I hear they now have a CD player version, that should be cool. Tell your mom to get one, she'll enjoy it, its no boom-box, but it sounds great.

No highs no lows, must be Bose. The most pathetic speakers ever inflicted on mankind. To say they are utterly revolting would be being too kind.

"they're just a quiet company, who doesnt do a lot of advertising, its mostly run by word-of-mouth."

You're not being serious right? Bose is *the* company that advertises the most (not based on any scientific studies just opinion). Hell I've seen that dumb infomercial for the wave radio about six times. Not to mention the special stands that they have in the mall and the special bose listening sessions they invite people too. They even plaster my campus with Bose advertisements about once every few weeks. I've never seen another speaker manufacturer do that at all. Dr. Amar is a bright guy, but he'd be a whole lot better off if he cut the advertising budget and put it into R&D.

I have the Wave Radio and it is good. I hook my portable CD player into and listen to classical music -- it is pretty amazing, especially for one that size. I bought a Sony clock/radio for half the price of the bose and the quality and radio reception is nowhere near to where the Bose is. just my 2 cents.

This is off topic. But I just got my new v333ES sony receiver in last week and hooked up my new diy sub to my system (2 12" in an isobaric setup). The system sounds really awesome, can't wait to get some better mains, only have some $200 best buy sony mmf515's. But anyways, the towers and sub cost me ~$300 and bose can't even touch it with anything I've ever heard (up to the 501s).

Bose lives on crappy advertising to make people believe the $1000 bucks they spent on their upgraded car stereo was actually a good decision. The speakers are crap, they must cost like $2 to produce, and they have a huge markup because people think that they're buying a quality product.

<< No highs, no lows, must be Bose! >>

I second this. A $350 radio should sound 10 times as good as the Bose Wave Radio does. I went to the Bose outlet store to listen to it to see what all the hype was about when Bose was running full color magazine pages on this radio and I just DID NOT UNDERSTAND! I turned it up and listened, sounded like crap. I thought oh, it's on the radio. I looked for about 10 minutes trying to find a sales associate who wasn't busy eating a donut or a mall snack (this bose store was in a mall) and once I did asked to hear a CD on it. Turned it up and it distorted horribly. The guy who demo'd it for me distorted it when he turned it up to 95/100 volume. I just said thanks and walked away. I don't think he was happy but I was more than thoroughly unimpressed.
