What is the significance of a worm drive? I kinda always thought that circular saws were always directly connected to the motor through a simple shaft.
Worm drive = max amount of torque, it does, however add to the weight of the tool. I have Milwaukee's Worm Drive Circular, awesome tool but heavy. If you need a weekend light duty saw this isn't for you, if you want something that will take a beating and cut almost anything - this is the saw.
that was a killer deal. skil makes the best worm drive saws. try a worm drive saw after some $49.95 black and decker heap o' and you will never go back. you won't see a carpenter/framer with anything but worm drives and if you do don't hire em.
